There wouldn't be if the UK govt. stopped @rsing about and brought in proper legislation as they have in France. Gendarmes and Army patrolling and big fines for infringement. Not silly "recommendations" here as in the UK. And of course they could ban companies from televising the matches, now there's a thought!

agree with all that Frenchy.. Unfortunately money talks and they will do anything to get football back on TV .. A few fans on on here are wanting the lockdown lifted ASAP That would be insane ..

Absolute tosh, and typical of the headless chicken syndrome that is perpetrating the biggest disaster on the country, and its NOT Covid-19, its the reaction to it.

In 2015 influenza was the direct cause of death of over 31k men and women in the UK alone, in 2016, 29k, in 2017 also 29k. If you then include cases where influenza was a contributory factor, (as is the case with many of the Covid-deaths) you can (conservatively) add a "1" at the front of ALL those figures. So, for those three years (at least, just the easiest official figures to get access to), influenza either killed, or helped to kill, over 130k men and women of all ages, IN THE UK ALONE. Did we see lockdown? Did you or anyone else who posts here actually KNOW?. I think not.

Said it before, Covid is very good at infecting, and pi55-poor at killing, on its own. The way it kills is by starving the body of oxygen by debilitating the lungs, but not collapsing them, as acute pneumonia can. If more of those who get infected were able to monitor their blood oxygen levels, they would see when this drops below safe levels, rather than that doing so when they are admitted because they cant breathe. Oximeters are cheap (£17 on eBay!), reliable, and provide early warning of low blood oxygen. Has anyone suggested they be made available? Nah, lets just suggest we all go round with kitchen towel wrapped in a old t-shirt, that makes more sense FFS.

Cancel the season, don't cancel the season, I genuinely do not give the smallest rats ar5e, but FFS lets get back to some semblance of common sense and reality, rather than behaving as if this rather ineffective "killer" is anything the VAST majority of the UK population should be overly concerned about (then maybe the NHS resources can be spent dealing with those who should, instead of building white elephant "nightingale" hospitals that cant be staffed and have to turn away more than they treat!)

Te facts i quote are just those, facts (number of deaths and what Covid does to help kill). How we react is driven by a lot less factual information.

WTF this virus and influenza are 2 different things the first is man-made which has the potential to kill as it wishes. By governments putting measures as they have has helped to slow it down. Influenza is a natural virus that also kills people. The difference is the man-made part which as we all know humans are capable of anything.
I'm sitting here reading that the USA has over 1 mil cases and that is half of the rest of the world. Did China want to send a message to the usa and as a result the rest of the world has copped it as well?
On sport been allowed back early it can work as here in Australia apart from the island of Tasmania Horse racing hasn't stopped like the rest of the world and even though they are suffering from people unable to attend the races as the revenue they lose can't be replaced. Add to that sponsors not been able to meet the obligations they have made where is the money going to come from? Say Leeds were allowed to start playing tomorrow without fans where is the club going to find the money to pay players and staff? People business is suffering but its too early to go back to normal.
So Sports is allowed to restart but the question is can you trust us to do the right thing? Just cause one industry in one country has got it right doesnt mean the rest would follow suit.

Well, either the Chinese are the worlds worst at developing and distributing a "killer" virus, or it isnt man made, you cant have it both ways.....

Man made, in China....so why release it at the beginning of winter, when delaying by just 3 months would have meant it would have started to make itself felt just a hundreds of thousands of Chinese wiuld be descending on Tokyo for the Olympics, the perfect means of distributing a highly infectious biological agent throughout the world?

Man made....but f00king useless at killing on its own, dependent upon killing the old, infirm, medically compromised (just the kind of people who place the largest burden in western health systems, so "getting rid" is like pruning the population, hardly the mark of an effective use if bioligical warfare?)

Natural.....likely to mutate just as previous corono virus syrains have, and which makes the stupendously expensive search for a vaccine about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Natural.......in the absence of a vaccine (see above), the otherwise healthy population can act as a shield for those who this less-than-lethal killer is a real threat to.

Or, we can resign ourselves to walking round with t-shirts wrapped around kitchen towels covering our faces, queuing up to drink the two pints we're allowed before we have to go home, and watch non-spectator sport and by that i mean EVERY F00KING SPORT, amongst a whole other set of non-living actions and activities that defy logic.

You reckon the Chinese are the worst at developing and you are right to look at the products you buy and how long it lasts lol.
But this virus was well developt and hidden and look at the results as to which country it has affected the most Yes you are right the USA but unfortunately it muted to other country's but as the graphs will show you mainly Western Countries.
Now on some points you made which made me laugh Man made....but f00king useless at killing on its ownThey kill there own for fun.
    If it wasn't man-made you're saying it's a natural phenomenon?
Ohh and the healthy can fight it off but it doesn't stop them from infecting others.
Man, my dementia must be getting worse as I thought were in Autumn how fast has Winter come.

WTF and other nonbelievers this was a deliberate act of warfare by a country slowly taking over the world a country who doesn't give a rat's a---- about its people and just like Russia power is everything to them.
This is a country where they imported 2 billion masks lol yes imported proper masks, not Chinese made. And this is at the time where not a word was announced about this virus and which the western world got wind off after a dr spoke out and in turn, was exterminated.
Forgive me WTF you keep believing that it is a natural virus and your probably right as the truth if it ever comes out it will be after we a long gone.

Oz, it's no more man-made that influenza, that killed (on its own, not with help from "underlying health issues) around 30k per annum between 2015 and 2017 (Official ONS figures, not made up), in the UK alone. If you add those who DID have underlying issues, the figure is 130k per annum, IN THE UK ALONE!!!!!! Covid is more able to infect, that's for , but less able to kill on its own, equally for sure.

And you haven't addressed the key issue. IF China wanted to debilitate world economies long term, why engineer something that makes a far better job of killing the old, the sickly, the infirm, than it does the young, the healthy, the current and next generation of productive workers? By taking out those who it kills most easily, China (if you are right) has helped reduce the long term demands on the health services of the very countries they are "trying to take over"! I think not.
