Some say a mistake, some say manslaughter, I reckon negligence.
Protect the NHS when the NHS should have been protecting the most vulnerable, these people were in a lot of cases left to die horrible deaths......cared for by very poorly paid private care staff.
Disclosure Scotland shone the light right onto it but the Scottish Govt didn't want to answer questions.
Now to get back on the topic.
I have just been watching BBC Scottish news regarding the topic about the COVID-19 outbreak in the chicken factory in Coupar Angus.
A public health expert Prof Linda Bauld from Edinburgh was interviewed and she dropped the bombshell that the COVID-19 virus is more likely to spread in enclosed spaces such as factories.
This flies in the face of the current Scottish Government policy about spectators not being allowed to attend football matches.
When we are sitting in the stands at Dens Park although protected from the overhead elements we are not sitting an enclosed space.
Therefore in my opinion there is nothing to stop spectators sitting in the stands at football matches as they are not sitting in enclosed spaces and in most of the lower leagues clubs spectators could be standing on open terracing.
It doesn't matter. The only policy has been social distancing. It is absolutely clear that if we want any fans in Dens we have to find a way to apply social distancing. Do that and I think we will be allowed to watch our team.
Nike conference ignored/swept under carpet hospital patients put back into care homes yep nippy doing a great job.
Wrong again Islay, you're getting good at that.
This is the UK's generally accepted definition of a confined space as applied to legislation governing enclosed spaces - eg smoking and Covid
A place which is substantially enclosed (though not always entirely), and where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the space or nearby (e.g. lack of oxygen)'
Just read an interesting article about a recent holiday in Sweden, no masks, no lockdown but washing hands and carry on as normal. Deaths per 100k of population right in the middle of worst countries and best countries. Restaurants schools and society carried on. There must be more to it than that but it does seem odd that our of xperience which has killed our economy was considerably worse than Swedens.
On another note the Two Sisters factory in Coupar Angus has several hundred workers. Why have approximately 10% of the work force showing signs of infections? I would have thought the numbers might have been much higher. If prompt action being taken has been deuces the infection rate that is a good thing, if however the virus has been present for some time why is the infection rate so low?
