Yes KTD hes full of surprises all right.
The biggest being we have a team full of attacking flare that is normally suppressed in his never ending quest of respecting the point.
If last night proved anything it's that we have a great attacking set of players when unleashed.
I'm not sure who we've scored 3 against ..
Name them and see if it actually means anything.or was it against the semi pros in this league?
However
An example of his previous negativity would be the torquay game.
They are in a mini slump and yet we were happy to worry more about them than utilise our attacking players.
If you have enzio on the left use him in his attacking mode not as a covering midfielder.
I'm sure we are all happy with last night's win and the way we won.
Surely there is no reason for reverting to the negative approach when we play better playing aggressive football.
Isn't that what we all want, to win and win in style if possible?
Or do you prefer tippy tappy snatch a win approach?
The morning after the night before and what a great night it was.
I do think it tells us a lot about what Michael Doyle’s contribution in midfield really is. Maybe we could keep him on the bench as sub keeper?
"mini slump"?!?! They had won 4 of their previous 5 games in all competitions and were way ahead of the rest when they arrived at Meadow Lane. The slump has happened since they registered so few efforts at goal against us.
How we setup and approach a home game against D&R doesn't necessarily dictate how we should set up against the likes of Wrexham away or Torquay or Stockport at home.
I'm sure NA decides on an approval and team selection that he thinks will give the best chance of getting the 3 points for each individual game.
I must say, I never expected that response from Notts. Going down to 10 men is one thing but if the 'one' you lose is a keeper who can't be replaced, well that's a horse of a totally different colour. Most teams would go into a shell and try to protect the slender lead that they had, but full credit to all at Notts, they didn't and a most enjoyable 'watch' it was too. Even if I was half hiding behind the settee for most of the 2nd half.
Tippy tappy did get us joint second most goals scored last season. Personally I think the loss of Dennis, Thomas and Roberts is the biggest reason for the goals drying up. Last night we scored 3 which I believe was more down to they came at us and left spaces at the back, hence why Ruben and Enzio were so effective, usually they have players doubling up on them but last night they were able to counter at pace in space.
That said this season we have a big issue with scoring goals, absolutely no one can deny that and it's been hard watching. Ardley does need to work it out with the players, like you say Enzio could cheat and stay up more, full backs could attack more aggressively though DKE was always going to struggle being right footed and we could play if forward more regardless to whether the pass is 100% on. It's more tweaks than anything and just getting the balance, but the positives is whilst we try to find the solution, keeping clean sheets and grinding out wins isn't a bad thing.
Excellent considered post Matt. It's not as straightforward as people make out, the loss of those attacking players combined with DKE having to play on the wrong front is bound to blunt the attack to a certain extent.
Thankfully, the other side of the equation (the defence) has been as we all know superb, helping to secure so many low low scoring victories.
