TS is running the club sensibly, according to the money made. Why blow all that for a little bit of glory in the short term? I was there when Anton was flashing the cash, a great few seasons. The aftermath took years to sort out.

It's not a simple as just changing the Manager.
BFC have some better quality players to begin with in Alex Mowatt and Cauley Woodrow and there are probably others so they have a better foundation

Similarly they have players who are a lot more consistent at hitting the target

“As a Rotherham supporter I would like your observations on the refereeing standards that I have observed in our last 2 games. Last Wednesday we had Matt Crooks sent off following a clash of heads when he led with his arm that appeared to glance off his opponents chest. A 3 match ban that on appeal was upheld. Although winning 1-0 at the time we played the following 20 minutes with 10 men and ended up losing 2-1. Keith Hackett said there was no intent and that the club should appeal the red card decision.
On Saturday we played Barnsley who ‘scored’ in the 2nd minute with a goal from Morris who again lead with his arm injuring the goalkeeper’s eye socket with a challenge that Jeff Stelling described as GBH.
There just doesn’t appear to be any consistency.
I’m sure I’m not the only fan who is bemused by the standards that have been eminent this season. If VAR had have been in use in the Championship there would have been far different outcomes for other clubs as well as Rotherham. Survival in the Championship should not depend on dubious decisions by referees. I would welcome your observations on how the EFL intend to rectify these anomalies in the game and why retrospective suspensions seem to have disappeared?”

Expected reply but good to see that the club are taking the matter up with the Referees Manager today.

“ Thank you for your email.

The EFL receives numerous queries and complaints regarding individual officials’ decisions and their overall performances. While we are not always able to comment on specific incidents, we can advise that the performances of all officials are constantly monitored by way of club and match observer reports, match videos and footage received by the referees’ coaches. Matches are analysed by the Referees' Manager, a referees’ coach and the referee, and these assessments can have an impact on future appointments.

We do appreciate some decisions can be frustrating for supporters, however it is important to note that the match officials having a challenging role in trying to spot every single incident that occurs on the field of play, whether this be due to the proximity of the ball to players, the position of the referee, or other players obscuring views of the officials. The human element of the sport means referees do also make mistakes during games, just like players and managers do on a weekly basis. With only one chance to view every incident, and no benefit of replays, the modern referee has a sometimes difficult task.

In all situations the decision of the referee is final although post-match Clubs do have the opportunity to mark the referee’s performance and raise any issues with the Referees’ Manager. We can confirm that the Rotherham United management team will be discussing this with the Referee Manager today.

We must also clarify that disciplinary appeals are not under the remit of the EFL and these are heard by the Football Association (FA) and therefore if you wish to raise a particular complaint about an appeal decision then we would advise you contact the FA directly.

Thank you for contacting the EFL.

    Kind Regards”
