4 clean sheets with Butch at the back, none since he was moved to midfield and Mulgrew brought back. Also can we not just throw in the youngsters at the weekend, something has to ****ing change

Going by previous seasons I would say we are safe (99%). One more win/3 points would all but confirm that. After that he’s gotta go a bit more on the front foot whether top six or bottom six otherwise he’s gonna have an uncomfortable close season. Mellon had the excuse of no fans, Covid etc. Tam has the excuse of first season ever. Next season there’s no excuses.

At work last night i was pleasantly surprised to hear we had scored early again, what was not surprising was Tony Watt was causing Livi all sorts of problems. My heart sank when another update said he was going off injured,my mood never improved when i heard he was replaced by Clark.

Last night could be season defining, had we managed to win there was every chance we would have made top six,i now feel we will most likely play a 4th derby at Dens and we will probably end up where we deserve to be.

Lets face it you do not really deserve top 6 never mind europe when you have only managed a paltry 24 goals in 29 games, that goal tally has got relegation written all over it but fortunately our defence and keeper have most likely prevented that.

I wonder at this summer's Fed meeting if Tony will use that well worn phrase again,"Were you happy watching that?."

Absolutely pissed off to **** with United just now. That pathetic transfer window where we signed a guy who looks nowhere near ready to play and a guy who's once again ****ing nowhere to be seen. We failed to once again deal with the obvious glaring issues with our team and are getting outplayed comfortably by ****ing Livingston. They have nowhere near our budget and I'm afraid it's nothing short of a disgrace. I wanna see this 16 year old striker in the team on Saturday because I'm more likely to score than ****ing McNulty is!

Said at the time Butcher should've kept his place. You don't change a defence that's kept 4 clean sheets. Mulgrew also slows us down too much. Constantly strolling forward with the ball and cutting it back to Edwards, time after time.

A similar stat can be made for Levitt. We've lost only 4 of 17 games that he's played. We've lost 7 out of the 10 he's missed.

Same last season, same this season and going to be the same until we actually address it in a transfer window.

No point moaning about it now....you canny polish a jobby!
Totally agree. It's no coincidence our problems are the same this season as last. Its not that the manager sets us up to play cautiously or to not lose as some are suggesting, its the fact we simply don't have good enough players. Credit to him for shoring up the defence, it's worked a treat and has us where we are today, but we have the same issues in midfield and attack using predominantly the same players as last season. Butcher & Harkes in midfield without a Fuchs/Levitt is a problem. McNulty up front is a problem. Clark as our first choice back up is a problem. Until these areas are addressed we're going to struggle.

    It’s an interesting stat.

I loved Charlie earlier in the season but now he’s not been as good in last couple of matches. Felt he was also a bit off it against Aberdeen.

Butch at centre half should maybe be revisited.

Levitt in midfield knits it all together.

Our forward play has been clueless. Only niskanen, sheep and Watt have any vision.

Harkes is a luxury player - doesn’t provide when team are doing badly

McNulty and Clark have just not produced enough for far too long

Agreed. Butcher is much more effective at the back. As soon as Levitt went off at Aberdeen and was replaced by Butcher our creativity died in that game. Its bordering on negligence that the midfield and attacking options weren't fixed at the start of the season. What makes it worse is we saw how ineffective last season Pawlett and McNulty were and they were both given contracts this season. Watt is a good signing but he cant do everything and going off again just exposed how powder puff we are.

The frustrating thing is we are crap but currently sitting in top 6. Think where we could have been with a couple of decent signings in August.

Yup, and we've now lost our two most influential players, we could well be up sh!t creek. Levitt was apparently close to being okay for last night, so hopefully he makes a quicker return than last time and let's hope Watt caught his hamstring quick enough to only be a week or two out. Tam reckons it's just a strain so fingers crossed.

We could have been having these discussions at any point during the recent run because for the majority of it we have been rubbish, but it has been muted because we have been unbeaten. Pretty awful v dee, St. John, Aden away.

With the players we are stuck with for remainder of season it’s unlikely to change.
