It just doesn’t work like that though, everything has to be right behind the scenes and the club has basically had to be rebuilt from scratch since we came down.

By your reasoning Newcastle should be challenging for the PL title every year 🤷

I haven't seen anywhere to say that they have big financial clout bar someone saying Les Bradd let it slip they had. Their business don't have much at all from what I had seen. Is their dad a billionaire? seen nothing to say he is or that he is in any way involved at Notts.

They probably soon will be. Their fans were not content with Mike Ashley and being a mid table PL side, they've gone through years of unrest, they demanded better and now have it. They had no tolerance whatsoever when it came to struggling a level below which resulted in the sacking of Ardiles(?) and the arrival of Keegan. Had they swallowed the excuses of the apologists they might have gone down to tier 3 and/or never enjoyed the success they did in the 90s, same with Ashley.

I've only ever seen that it is their Dad who's got cash in abundence. Regardless I think the Bros are doing an exercise in sustainability and so are only putting in as much as they can afford to continue losing. In contrast both Hardy and Trew were reliant on getting to the Championship for their financial model to succeed hence their desparation and illogical decisions.

The Bros' approach I think is to say that if they get most things right without going mad then success will follow. It's nearly succeeded. The question is will the fans have the patience or will the Bros just get bored with the "project"? Season ticket sales will tell a story as will the next choice of coach.

Wonder if any prospective managers are being put off by the over-cautious approach by the owners and the restrictions imposed on the style of players and play.

We're not a lucky club in this era, in fact we've been distinctively unlucky from the Coventry play-offs, timing of Covid and no doubt other events that I've escaped my mind.

    Funny old game, i'nit.

They didnt have any success in the 90s.

They are a joke club with a totally thick fanbase.

They got top 2 by spending money they didnt have they were in severe financial trouble and Ashley has kept them in a sound position.

They slag off Ashley as a bad man and accept these sports washing ar*eholes and a bloke who instructed a murder of a journo.

Basically they in reality are a no mark club who will now likely win due to blood money none of it will be earned.

Ashley wants to get back into football ownership having tried to get Derby & that wouldn't be cheap.
Could never understand their hatred of him. the bloke was an ardent fan & spent his money. Sometimes it just doesn't work out but the hatred was something else & the media could be as bad at times

Apart from the keegan era they’ve been a mid-table / relegation side since I can remember. Their success or lack of wasn’t anything to do with apologists, it was a shrewd or lucky managerial appointment that they made…much like our very own of Warnock. Their fans have demanded success, but where has it got them? Their takeover has nothing to do with fans demanding success but ultimately the owners publicity and financial gains.

Not sure if Ardiles was ever there, that was slightly before I got into football really.

Newcastle think they are a big club as they get 50k crowds.

When was the last time they won anything ???

They think they've hit the jackpot now but they've lost their club.

I saw an interview with Ricky Hatton who said about Man City its not the same anymore and doesnt enjoy it as much and thats after winning titles, think he has something to do with Hyde FC too.

Ashley might swoop in for Derby as you say and he will get them on the right track finance wise though he will know if they arent in the championship pronto he faces abuse !!

They haven't finished more than 7 places below their all time average position in the pyramid since Keegan's first full season.

Notts are currently 54 places below our average place.

But there are many thousands of City fans who are enjoying the ride just like most of us when we thought we had Munto money.
