I think we?d be a bit more exciting if we had some raw pace down the flanks. Nemane when he ran on to those balls around the corner and JJ beating his man either way was a lot more entertaining, for me that?s one of the main differences this season.

What have they got to admit they did wrong? They identified LW as our head coach from out of nowhere and employed him.He was quite successful. He certainly got us promoted where others failed and established us in league two although we were starting to falter. Along came a bigger who were closer to home and offered him more money and seduced him into signing for them.. I'm not sure in this time line where the Brothers need to or owe anyone an apology for getting it wrong.?x

Both wasted being used as wingbacks. We are now doing the same with Jarvis.. Cant these so called coaches see that they are stifling these players natural ability, thats why the games are no longer entertaining.. I remember the first half against Yeovil in which we never had a shot on goal, Burchnall had Cal Roberts playing in the right back position, which he didnt look to pleased about. In the second half he must have said f*ck you I'm playing up front, and went on to score 3 goals... Thats what happens when players play in their prefered positions...

It is classic problem faced by all coaches and managers be it League Two or at International level as we have seen with England. Do you sacrifice your preferred system and approach for the overall team to make sure the players are played in their best positions as much as possible? Or do you sacrifice players ability as seen with Jarvis and Foden at England level by playing them not their best position to ensure the preferred system is maintained.

Sadly football is not as simple as the tired old and overused cliches and sayings you read and hear from the fans. If it was we could all be the man in charge and make it look easy?..or not

I don?t think the owners have anything to say sorry about but the assumption seems to be that if we don?t make the playoffs then Maynard will go. Our current ppg for the last 10 games indicates we won?t make the playoffs so if our former coach is available now then maybe they should make the move?

Struggling to understand what LW would do differently. Apart from insisting that when the ball ends up back with Slocombe, 'its still a corner'. Have we forgotten just how much of the ball our back 3 saw under LW in L2?

I read his post as meaning that replacing Maynard with LW would be an admission that they got it wrong regards Maynard, not LW.

Would bringing LW back at least give the club a short term lift? Undoubtedly. It wouldn't be on a par with Keegan going back to Newcastle in the early 1990s, but it would probably add 1k or so to the gates and inject some excitement and anticipation into the atmosphere, which you'd expect to transfer into to the players and potentially help get us over the line.
Too late now though if MKD have decided he is their man, not that I ever thought the owners would make that move anyway.

To change head coach now would be a very odd decision. When we changed managers every season we got plenty of short boosts in excitement and anticipation (if not attendances) but they were just that short (term).

We are better than that now thankfully

No. Still have the nightmares. Years from now, small children will whisper 'dont go in there, Grandad's going on about losing to Shrewsbury in the FA cup again'.

And yet despite that hellish combination of personnel and system, we persisted with it. Unbendingly. Yes it set the pulse racing, but often for the wrong reasons.

So if LW came back, I think we'd see a team that, compared to his last visit:

Same shape and patterns of play.
More secure on the ball at the back.
    Less forward penetration (ooh missus).

More or less what we've got now then. But with corners that last 3 minutes.
