Thankfully, it’s not my problem, as is occasionally hinted at by the ageists. I’ll just have to deal with the consequenses of canny political blandness, timidity, and spin disguised as leadership. I backed out of it all in 1999 once the parliament was reconvened (with an energy-sapping postscript in 02-03 as Bush and Blair’s state terrorism disgusted and angered people) and tend to keep out of it now until some dick with an iPad rings the doorbell during an election campaign, and I pose the difficult questions.

I doubt that I’ll be around, if it ever happens, to see the end of western neo-liberalism and its appalling end products.

Yes. Then I had to vote for the equally-bemused Richard Thomson (settle Stewarty, he’s more batshît than Beeswing) in 2019 to get rid of the erse (I wrote an apology on my ballot to the Labour candidate for voting tactically rather than the impressive manifesto that I wanted to vote for - mild social democracy, ken?).

As we said of Banffshire’s Tory Bill Baker in 1974, “it is believed that he has once asked a question about the constituency”.

    Bland grey porridge.

Down with this sort of thing.

It's the same sorry state across all parties.

I'd go as far as saying that the elected goons don't hold much power anyway. It's the unelected ones in the background pulling the strings that worry me.
But the point is here DeeDon is it never use to be like this In the last few years democracy has bit by bit removed from the SNP membership and without doubt the main driver of this is one of those unelected power mad folk you talk of ... One Peter Murrell !

I'll post this wee link for you and try and give you an understanding of whats happening within the SNP. Please give it some serious thought.

I’ve always found McAlpine’s views interesting.

If everything he’s written in that article is true (and I have no reason to doubt him) this is borderline corruption of the type that Labour CLPs used to be open to, but as ever, very few will raise it as an issue and the establishment’s dictators will have their way.

The content of the addendum is pretty chilling. Murrel should just skite it up on the byre wall and be done with it. Totalitarian stuff.

Anyone ever seen these pair of political experts on the box? There’s evidently nothing that they don’t know, individually or collectively. One writes really well and is undoubtedly educated, the other, ahem, not so obvious. They work well together albeit that no encryption is required. Hope they get a room soon.

I read it, but nothing in it surprised me. I suppose the only thing that did surprise me is that folk actually give a sh*t about what goes on behind the scenes in political parties. It's never going to change. The days of picking over policy in smoked filled rooms before presenting to conference are long gong and never coming back.

I'm not saying it is right, but it's what happens, hence why I don't follow any of it much. and don't put too much trust in any of them.

    Where I'm at.

That's a part of why I'm now a supporter of independence as I cling to the hope that in an independent Scotland, a new political model would evolve.

Possibly a futile hope, but by fu ck the current model is broken.

Kate Forbes in the race, Angus Robertson drops out.

Looks like a straight fight between Forbes and Yousaf, with Regan the rank outsider.

    My 5p remains on Forbes.
