Well then I apologise. Your remark was a bit cryptic so I perhaps misunderstood it. Yes, I did mean Denis. Not sure what you mean about statins and flu jab: I was expanding the point that many people who claim the flu jab is potentially useless or even harmful also spread the idea that statins make you very ill. Urban myths but perhaps slightly OT.
I had the jab for the first time. Feel fine. Same with statins. Mentioned I was being put on them a few years back and everyone in the pub chimed in with "You'll be sorry". Urban myth about horrendous side effects. Never had a problem in five years of taking them.
My statins comment was related to your post above & I assumed you were referring to being put on statins as a flu jab is not something you're put on
Sorry if I didn't make it clear
I'm nothing like Marxist, I don't even identify with the term socialist. I'm more comfortable with social democrat. I campaigned under Milliband in 2015 and will do for any non tory party if it was a two party race in any area I happen to live in. I've said on this thread, we would have been better without Corbyn and Abbott in this election, but we have them and policies some of which I don't support, but I'm comparing them with the conservatives in my area, and supporting Wes Streeting (very centrist) who hates Corbyn) and Faiza Shaheen (left wing economist) against Ian Duncan-Smith. All I can say is that if we go back to more moderate, I'll support those against the tories any day of the week.
As someone who has always worked with young people in public services and whose entire family work in public services and charities, I know the certainty of where we're going under the concervatives. We see it in our towns and services now and they ain't half finished yet. Labour are at least offering alternatives, not risk free, and would not be able to deliver on everything they want. But they would be on the side of the working people, the services they need and the less fortunate. I met Emily Thornbury in local area this morning, another moderate but very passionate about the manifesto and how much difference a labour government would make to the badly hit communities. I'm not interested in the Corbyn name, he'll be gone soon whatever happens, and I'm even less interested in the minority of Trots with their "comrades" bull****. It's the policies and intention we should vote on. As far as I am concerned, vote for anyone who has a remote chance of beating a tory where you are.
And we'll take it from there ;-)
