If we're happy with play offs then it's looking good right now. 1st place however will be a tough ask from here. Looking at Notts' previous two championship winning seasons away to sides who finished below 12th....

1997/98 dropped 6 points on the road to bottom half sides
2009/10 dropped 9 points on the road to bottom half sides

This season, we've already dropped 10 points to sides who currently sit below 12th.

Some of those teams may end up in the top half, but as it stands we're on course to miss out on automatic again because we drop too many points away to the strugglers.

I agree with what you say, although I think it's far too early to write off our title hopes. Yes we are 8 points behind Torquay but we do have to play them twice (I know that doesn't mean we will beat them - but it doesn't mean we won't). They really could be '6 pointers' as win both and we will only be 2 behind but lose both 14 and that would be some achievement to pull that back. I do think we are improving - last night showed that, what a difference to recent away performances. We need to convert chances though. Someone will come on here and say that we were lucky to get away with a point because they had two chances to score - but we should have been out of sight and only a post that was hit and a very dubious penalty decision stopped us, in addition to other chances.

I do not give a rats arse that Notts had many chances, and should off had a penelty- the point is that they did not score. And in the end could have lost, when they missed 2 good chances. So how can we have such a great defense , if they nearly scored 2 goals ??

Always the same story , notts had lots of chances , but never take them- then lose or nearly lose late on.

I remind you that Dag & R are a poor outfit, right down near the bottom

And if all you pro Ardley fans, do not like it, you know what to do ..
No. You are in fact telling us how the game unfolded in someone else's eyes, you didn't see it you were just told by someone watching You understand that part right? If not will someone with a pitchfork please help your man out here???!!?! Please!!! Anyone!!

We had a good defense last night because we were solid, didn't concede and didn't look like conceding for large periods of the game. You can't say it wasn't solid because they nearly scored twice lol.

Sadly it's not at all always the same story we created very little at Dover although I didn't see the game was just told. We created little at Sutton but were very solid. Didn't create at Aldershot. So there is three examples where you are wrong. We could add on the games where we have scored 3 and 4 if you want more examples to prove your statement is just plain wrong.

The only mission you have accomplished today was to actually look more stupid than you previously have which in itself is rather impressive.

You / Everyone wanted a more attacking performance away from home creating more chances and that's what we got. We were unlucky not to win. The same way that we were lucky at Chesterfield.

All said because someone told you on the radio lol. Do you think listening on the radio you are in as strong a position to comment on a game as if you are watching it with your own eyes?

Now think carefully bobo before you answer. Don't dive in, think about the question then type.

I must admit I'm surprised you are complaining , the manager set us with an attacking formation/lineup away from home, we created lots of chances and like against Wealdstone we could easily have had the game sewn up with a little bit of luck well before half time. We couldn't say that against Sutton or Aldershot for example. Big positive change which many have noted and commented on. BTW anyone seen Durham?

The only criticism should be aimed at certain Notts players for missing such good chances not the manager as we created plenty for a visiting side. But that wouldn't fit your agenda now would it can't blame the players, always the manager. Personally I was very happy with the lineup, we deserved the win no doubt about it. Still another clean sheet and we didn't lose so not all bad.
To paraphrase Jimmy Sirrel, ‘winning is what matters, the rest is just gossip’. He might have added ‘especially when there’s only 1 automatic promotion place’.

we could of lost quite easily in the later stages of the game , they missed a complete sitter, then hi the wood work , so yeah great defense

Still cant break these crap teams down , away from home , same story time after time , still better than last season where we lost, and whay we got a point, Ardley must have been delighted, along with the pro Ardley disciples lol
I think your right you probably were in a different universe to most of us. Just so we can get an angle on what your saying. We could have lost....thats true but most people watching the game would politely suggest we probably should have scored 4 maybe 5 times including hitting the woodwork but perhaps more importantly missing a series of sitters. So with that in mind I will be generous and say they maybe could have netted twice, thats both the only worthwhile attempts they created in 90 minutes. That makes us winners in this ludicrous cuddawuddashudda set of circumstances 5-2
As for Big Ben and Rawls they were indeed superb last night

But Kelton who told you that Big Ben and Rawls were superb? Or did you see it for yourself?

You can never win in these arguments, we were ruthlessly clinical in the final minutes of Chesterfield when we played poor but people were calling for head saying he was lucky, then we play very well but aren't clinical and again calling for his head for that. Even if we win every game 5-0 till then end of the season as runaway champions, they will still say "I can't forgive him for the relegation and I would have got us promoted with that budget".

if we do as you hint then....
    I can and will forgive
But at the risk or repeating myself ...
Haven't we dropped points (two) against a team in the bottom 5 of the national league again ?
so we have beat a team I have never heard of , and got a lucky away win , and a draw against a bottom 4 team away from home.
stuff that promotion is built on , maybe not.

Basically you can spin every almost every result, scenario, opponent whichever way you want to suit.

When we beat an inform side above us in the Top 5 with ease, they are part-time, never heard of them so should win. We then beat a very well known professional side who are in the bottom 5 in poor form , and it's expected cos well they are bottom 5.

Then we play Daggers away, everyone bar deluded Davy says we played well, attacking football created lots of chances but wasted them. We were positive, creative, wasteful, and unlucky. Virtually everyone who watched the game said the same but ultimately it's 2 points dropped it often is when you draw a game.

Don't watch the game, see the scoreline afterwards and glance at the league table and it becomes a negative but does not tell the whole story.
