Not saying that much after last season but can not argue with that.

This was back to the bad old days. No demons in the pitch, they put us under pressure and we capitulated. A good chance to put things right against Ess ex in what seems to be a big game next week.

Yes, back to the feeble batting we’ve become used to. As Elite said, there were no demons in the pitch but we were unable to bat out little more than two sessions. The two openers are the only ones who appear to have the right attitude to batting in the longer format of the game. Very poor!

Free live stream from the top-of-the-table clash at Chelmsford:

    https://www.es***cricket.org.uk/matc...e-475d47604e5c

You might have to copy the link and replace the naughty word.

Edit: It seems even that doesn't work, but it does take you to the Ess ex website, just click on 'home' and the live stream is there.

Just as we seem to making progress in the red ball game, our T20 form has gone into reverse. On Wednesday we did the football equivalent of going into the last 5 minutes with a 3 goal lead and managed to scrape a draw, tonight we were never in the game despite only an 18 run defeat. Our bowling was abysmal, only Matt Carter escapes with any credit.

No surprise as soon as Mullaney takes the captains job look what happens.

Our team also look unfit to me and our bowling is poor this year.

One of my mates just offered me tickets for day 4 at the Gabba. I told him that I didnt fancy a 10am start drinking booze in Brisbane CBD.

An incredible game at Derby tonight. Notts batted really poorly and stuttered to 137/9, and Derbyshire only needed 12 runs from 3 overs to win but just managed to scrape a tie. They needed 5 from the last ball for victory, but somehow Budinger fumbled a routine catch over the ropes for four to leave the scores level, meaning a third tie in eight games for Notts. Due to favourable results elsewhere, the point has moved Notts to the top of the table, but this was a very poor performance.

Hales, Duckett and Mullaney should all be ashamed of their efforts with the bat, Hales, after 21 from the first over, could afford to have a look at a couple but went straight for the champagne shot, Duckett who fails more often than not but doesn't think to change his approach and Mullaney setting a real Captain's example of how not to bat in the circumstances. Still not sure how we got away with it, especially when we had a golden opportunity to win it.
