It never even occurred to me that it was a penalty. Just a 50/50 challenge which doubtless hurt, but then tackles/blocks sometimes do.
To me it’s the sort of penalty that means defenders may just as well give up what they’re there to do but, as a certain blonde haired buffoon once said, ‘them’s the breaks’ and, for once they went with us.
Think we just about deserved it and credit to all concerned but, hand on heart, I doubt there’s anyone on here who wouldn’t have been gutted if that decision had gone against Derby or England.

Tbf that’s exactly what my kids said…before VAR had reached its conclusion. On the other hand Gary Neville and Mark Pougatch both thought it was a ‘disgrace’ and ‘soft’ respectively.
My kids have played at a decent level and know what they’re talking about and so do you, I haven’t played properly since the late ‘70’s and I’m maybe being a bit ‘old school’ about it so I’ll give way, but to me it was ‘soft’ at best.

There's a lot of complaining on social media that it wasn't a penalty. Er indoors didn't complain. We watched it on Dutch TV. When it happened, the commentator and the 2 pundits (van Hooijdonk and van der Vaart) said penalty from the video. At HT they said the same. Post match, Koeman et al had said the opposite and they changed their tune. Not been out yet so not spoken to anybody. Off shopping in a minute. I wonder what reaction, if any, I will get.
