Leicester City's George Hirst is having a medical at Rotherham ahead of a loan deal, as Brendan Rodgers looks to further the striker's experience.

Hirst - son of former England striker David Hirst - joined Leicester last season from sister club OH Leuven in Belgium.

Now 21, Rodgers doesn’t think Hirst is ready for the Leicester first team, but thinks he may yet have a big future at the club.

Getting him some game time at a Championship club is seen as the next stage of his development.

Talks have been ongoing with his agent and I’m told his agent is playing hardball. Normally a agent would end the talks and go to talk to another of the bidders, however seeing as talks are still going on I get the feeling we are ether the highest bidder and agent Is trying to hold out for more or we are not far off from agreeing terms ether way I’m feeling optimistic but I’m not banking on it just yet
