We all understand the difficulties the club faced with the actions of Heart of Midlothian when they took our manager and delayed our promotion. That seems like an eternity ago and i find it very disappointing that major signings have not been made,i honestly think it was a near miracle that the new manager accrued 7 points with a Championship side minus its best player.

I would hate to think that our early season miraculous victories had Mark and Tony thinking it was job done because we now have a much better manager, the team Micky has inherited was on a major downward spiral long before covid 19 ended the season and that was at Championship level.

By the way we deserved our promotion and would have won the league if the season carried on but we were on a very poor run and everybody knew fine well that to survive in the Premiership we needed to add at least 5 players with top league experience.
Good post sir. If it's true that we were after Safranko and Nisbet then it does appear the budget is there up to a certain level. It may just take that bit of extra time to persuade the right player to move to Tannadice. I think I'm just looking for a bit more assurance from them that we're doing everything we can do within the budget to strengthen the squad. And not just a striker either, we desperately need a good attacking midfielder.

I can't believe the amount of flapping going on here and can only imagine the crap that will get posted if and when we any new players come in and they don't score a hatrick every game.
We were in the championship for years, new regime have come in and given the fans a reason to come out and back the club.
Like I said previously, not knowing what league we would be in cos of covid and Hearts saga delayed recruitment by months. Its inevitable there would be bumps in the road and imo any finish that means we're in premier for 21/22 is fine by me, I know hearts and the dees would bite your hands off for that.
I'm sure Ogren is well aware of what he needs to do to get a return on his investment and going back down wouldn't be part of that plan.
Let's see what shape we're in points and squad wise next time we play Gers in Dec.

I'm not suggesting they should name players we're after I'm suggesting the club needs to communicate a bit better with the fans.
A Facebook video from training at St Andrews is all well and fine but we need a bit more than a hint from a favoured journalist on Twitter. Is all I'm saying.
Making our interest in Nisbet never worked out too well.I do understand what you are saying is frustrating not being in on what utd are doing. They did make it public about guy from ipswich and safranko haynes and nisbet but when they never came of just made some supporters even more frustrated. So really they on a loser wheather they tell us or not.

I'm usually in the same boat but something just isn't sitting right with me this time. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    MM in today's Courier:

Mellon, meanwhile, insisted nothing is imminent on the transfer front but Osman Sow featured in the Raith match and the gaffer didn’t completely rule him out of the picture.

“The big fella is someone who is very fondly thought of here at the club,” claimed Mellon.

“He is still living in Dundee and he is getting over a serious injury and needed a game.

“We are always on the lookout to see if we can improve the group and we would keep an open mind on anything happening but nothing would be imminent.”

Mellon added: “We are still trying hard to improve things.

    “It can be difficult.

“Sometimes you think you can move ahead with some stuff but we are trying to improve the group and looking to move forward.

“We have a number of things we are moving on that have changed from last week because things change very, very quickly.

“There is nothing imminent today but things are moving ahead. You know what it is like – it is so delicate at times.

“We are hopeful we can get some stuff done.”

So the club aren't sitting doing nothing then. That's about as informative as a club are ever going to be on the transfer in front I think.
