You're right about PFI, though. It was so clearly awful that the Tories, when they got in in 2010, immediately stopped using them........... right?

Just checked current voting percentages of this poll and if it was indicative of the rest of the country Conservatives would be predicted a majority of 279 seats, both LD and BXP would have zero seats along with UKIP and the Greens would have 1 seat!

I think this poll is probably about as reliable as all the others!

The only one that matters is on the 12th December, but I suppose we need to amuse ourselves with speculation until then.

Except that unlike the rest, the purpose of this poll wasn't to try and predict the result of the election. The idea was to compare the percentages on here to the actual figures to try and get a general idea of which way this board swings politically.

Oh yes I appreciate why it was done, but does it even tell the truth about this board? Some people voted and many others didn't, so who's to say where the silent (majority?) might be going...

It's probably as close as we can get. I accept that 68 votes (so far) won't be representative of the board as a whole, but I would think it's fairly representative of those who regularly post on the political threads.

Yeah I think most of the regular posters will have had a go, but I'm always surprised by the number of 'views' these threads get. We obviously have a lot of folks who lurk in the shadows without speaking up!

Maybe not. Obviously it's a topic that's of interest to me, so I've probably viewed it well over 50 times. I'm assuming that 'views' means the number of times it's been looked at, rather than the number of people who have looked at it.

I presume it does, although take this thread for example: a ratio of nearly 4,000 views to nearly 120 active replies, some of which are multiple posts from the same person. Even allowing for the more enthusiastic posters, I'm thinking there must still be a fair few passive viewers hanging around in the background.

Around 80 or so people currently viewing the site, only half a dozen or so are members/signed in. I know plenty who read it but never post.
