Lacey has good ability too. Turner is beginning to show his age and seems prone to mistakes, but on his day you can still see flashes of what once saw him play at a high level.

Good performance, great result. Well done Notts!

Stockport? Who the bleddy Hell are they?

9 points ahead but we have a game in hand and have to play them twice.

    Great win tonight
Have to be beating teams like Dagenham if they are serious about promotion. Or does that only apply to Notts?

Look tonight is a good night for us. A win against a reasonable side. The top, apparently unreachable team lost against a low team who even handicapped themselves by having a man sent off. All of this without our best player.

    Not aimed at you

Why would it be aimed at me?

Surely you are only making the same point I am!

Great win - I meant us!

    Fantastic result
Our defence was magnificent again. Turner was a monster and Rawls put his body on the line. One goal conceded in 7 and half hours of football. That is good at any level anytime.
Would still like to see us keep possession better through the side going forward. We need another forward to take the pressure of Wootton some times.

Very well could be... Wootton is a good shout too and also Roberts but in truth he has made so many good signings it's hard to pick... to be honest my favourite signing in Lacey..ok he hasnt been great lately but he is a 8/10 player every week.

There can be a biased towards a players age after 30 (certainly when they are nearing 40) that they are either past it or incapable anymore which can be wide of the mark especially these days.

If a player can remain fit, healthy and look after their bodies throughout their career coupled with having athletic genetics they can still do a job at 40. One player that stands out for me is Kevin Ellison who is still playing in League Two for Newport at 41. The manager obviously thinks Doyle is the best at what he does and can do a job that’s why he’s in the team week in and week out. It needs to be more about what he brings to the team and not his age. There is no point putting in a 28 year old who may not be as good. Likewise if a 28 year old had an off day or wasn’t at their peak their age would not be brought up.
