On the other hand, the Loony Left and British Muslims are not mutually exclusive groups, so it is possible this Muslim nut-job was also a fully paid-up member of the Loony Left.

How on earth did this guy manage to get an ESTA into the US? Even if MI5 were no longer interested in him you would have thought his name might have put up a red flag when he applied for permission to travel. Where did he say he would be staying when he arrived in the US? You need to put this on your application. Did he have a list of street gun dealers or did he just happen to bump into one? He appears to have lied on his application about his medical history. Was anyone in the UK not worried about his travel plans? Lots of questions here for the US and UK authorities.
