but I was alluding to the fact that the Bros might have been ensuring cover in the eventuality, rather than it being good fortune.

Don"t think any County fan realises what a high quality player you're getting. He's getting old but class is permanent, he's legs are quite slow, hard worker though but his brain is ultra fast, a step ahead of 90% of the players in league 1, so if he's stays fit he'll be far too good to be playing in league 2, it’s almost laughable.

Watched your game against Wrexham, fantastic entertainment., you were the away side but bossed midfield, so you looked like the home side playing some nice short passing football. Maybe Wrexham were nervous because they were defensive with long ball tactics. They weren't good to watch but were effective.

Agree McGoldrick is a proper baller, so he should fit in well and he'll prove massively popular, so modest and a real gent. He'll quickly become a hero at your club.

A rare Friday night home game, the last of '62-63 season,a 6-0 thumping. This was the year of the severe winter, where we played twice between Boxing Day and March. As a result five games were crammed into 16 days in May.
I had initially suspected the Cup Final might have caused the switch but that was the next Saturday - but we did have to travel to Hull on the following Monday to fulfil our fixtures.

He only bagged a brace in that game. I was referring to the 4-0 victory over Colchester in April 1971. I seem to remember all three goals were from headers (though I may be wrong).

I realise, thanks to your assessment matching the scout report I received from a DCFC season ticket holder , and very good friend, once this stunning signing had been confirmed.

I have no excuse, not being as old as yourself.
Unless he got the equalizer at Hull, that brace represented his last goals in his first spell before genial Joe Mercer signed him for the Vanilla.
The Easter Monday hat-trick game was shortly after Colchester had ousted Leeds from the Cup,Ray Crawford at the ready.
A rare Mick Jones strike completing the scoring,if IIRC - although perhaps I shouldn't tempt fate.
One thing's for certain - he liked playing Colchester.

Not Jones I'll give you a clue as you're obviously not as old as me: Begins with M and ends with asson,
