He’s seemingly inherited a bit of a financial mire though (in the context of the impending budget/the weather getting colder/the associated decisions) whereas Yimmy’s making the best of what he has and, on the contrary, if anything, has been praiseworthy of the Group that he’s succeeded to. Didn’t Starmer know what he was getting into prior to the pre-election rhetoric!?

Being investigated due to clothes being bought for his wife by a Labour donor not being declared.

Whilst I am sure Starmer isn't quite in the super rich bracket. I'm also quite sure he's not looking out for 'whoops' stickers at his local Asda and really doesn't need anyone buying clothes for his Wife. Unless the donor is donating something else to Starmers wife in return.

Private Eye has reported for years about Starmer and his love of a freebie. Holiday homes, sporting and entertainment events are his speciality.

I know they all do it and have done for years, but an outright ban on this sort of shyte would be best.

Even worse when they are telling pensioners there is no money for heating support.

The guide to the Commons rules states MPs should register “any benefit given to any third party, whether or not this accompanied a benefit for him or her, if the Member is aware, or could reasonably be expected to be aware, of the benefit and that it was given because of his or her membership of the House or parliamentary or political activities”. Somehow I doubt the legitimacy of Starmer’s compliancy claim - he’s an experienced barrister and former DPP head FFS and this is his wife that we’re talking about, not a distant cousin.

Of course he knows what he's doing, but just change it to stop it from happening at all as it just doesn't read well.

It's not just Starmer, it's all of them that do it. You can see the registers online and it doesn't make good reading.

Parliament should also look more into the why does a politician need someone to buy his Wife clothes.

WTF would accept clothes or money for clothes? You just wouldn’t.

Few years ago when I was really ill (unable to walk etc and my family having to do everything for me) it was suggested by several professionals that they apply for carers allowance. My mother took umbrage every time and pointed out she wasn’t taking money for looking after her own family but this lot would have been on the phone to the DWP before I was even out the hospital.
