Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony claims the club had a deal pretty well
done, to sign 23 year old defender Lewis Brunt from Leicester City.
But Wrexham FC came in & hijacked the deal, by offering the player £3,000 a week more
in wages, than Peterborough Utd had offered the player, so the player signed for Wrexham.
Mansfield Town were also interested in the player, after manager Nigel Clough coached the
player last season.
Clough said, Mansfield Town & Peterborough Utd were neck & neck to sign Brunt, but
Wrexham came in with a wage offer, that blew both clubs out of the water.
