With all that in mind, where do people think we'd be in the table had LW stuck around? Would he be doing better than Maynard with the likes of Bass, Platt, and Bedeau at the back? I suspect we'd still be a bit schizophrenic, but more like the version of Notts we saw at the start of our first season back in L2. Overall, I think Maynard has us playing more balanced, pragmatic football that is probably more likely to see us through.
I think we would have finished slightly higher last season say about 10th but I reckon we'd be lower this season than where we are currently probably just outside the play offs and still conceding too many goals.

SM tried to correct the defence when he came and thankfully the club got rid of the lot that close season. LW made no obvious attempts to change said defence and I presume had the excuse (in his head) that the system hadn't resolved the player issues during the NL/L2 close season. Thanks to that whole NL squad for getting us back into L2 (just made it though!) but it was obvious the defence would struggle against L2 players and L2 managers.

Williams I think realised that the defence was rubbish so went to score more than the opposition, hence the number of 9 and 10 goal thrillers.

SM tried to tighten up the defence but didn't really do anything as the personnel were not up to it so we dropped because he stopped the score one more than you gung ho approach. Now we have a solid keeper and defence, SMs approach is making more sense but it isn't as exciting as Williams' approach. Would love to see Williams with the current defence

I don't think we truly know his input or the alternatives if he was to go. On balance, and the evidence of the last transfers in, I would definitely say keep him.

I think he would be very difficult to replace. He knows how we operate, and the type of player that fits our system..

If he does go I presume he would have to relinquish his directorship of Radar so the Bros would have two slots to fill.

It's only next month so a statement would be good.

Or though we would have less to speculate on which keeps the board ticking over.

How often and for which positions should the club issue statements to say they are not leaving ?
