Record numbers of migrants living in Britain and not working are costing the taxpayer an estimated £8 billion a year, a new report warns.

Official figures show 1,689,000 non-UK nationals are either unemployed or classed as economically inactive because they are not looking for a job.

The figure for the second quarter of 2024 surpasses the previous high of 1,676,000 recorded at the start of the year, according to analysis of Office for National Statistics data.

The Centre for Migration Control put the cost to taxpayers at £8.5 billion a year

But right now, smoking outside a pub seems to be his priority?

Never has a man become so hated inside 50 days.
You seem to be confusing election and immigration again Tricky.
Maybe you should start your own immigration thread. Oh no, you did that didn’t you? Dedicated it to me for some obscure reason. Remind me…how many responses did it get, was it three or four…all but one with love from you to you!

Keep swerving. To quote yourself. "Whos' in charge?"
He wants more free movement. Done nothing to curb the immgration nightmare.
7000 illegals have flooded in. in his 50 days in charge.

What you are seeing now, is still a left over of the freedom of movement debacle and you and your mate screaming the benefits of European membership and free movement.
Its like a ponzi sxheme and our current PM refuses to acknowlege anything of the problem. "IT'S ALL DOWN TO FAR RIGHT ACTIVISTS"

Source please for you claim of 7,000 asylum seekers - your incorrect to call them illegals, as by International Law, they are not illegal until their claims have been processed.

As for the rest of your post its utter bull****.

It's in loads of places if you look for it.
You and the rear gunner never believe anything, unless the BBC and the Guardian say so. As a pair, they would sooner say nothing, than try to explain it. Thats a narrative you love.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s administration has seen 6,858 migrant arrivals since taking office, increasing pressure on the government to find effective solutions. In response, the government scrapped the previous Rwanda deportation scheme and proposed a new Border Security Command aimed at improving border security and reducing dangerous crossings.

Considering most of them toss their ID away.
This is a pinch of salt

The Centre for Migration Control put the cost to taxpayers of record levels of migrant worklessness at as much as £8.5 billion a year.

Robert Bates, research director at the Centre for Migration Control, said last night: “For all the talk of a fiscal 'black hole', the Labour Government seem to be missing the glaringly obvious fact that mass migration is causing economic pandemonium.

Actually it looks to be post election debate so entirely on topic. Try as you might you cannot split off issues that the electorate feel relevant just because you don't think they are relevant. Elections (the subject) are granular and immigration is one of those grains.

It's like trying to stop a debate on new right backs in the transfer thread because YOU don't think we need one 😄

I agree completely about the topic of immigration being something worthy of debate and have never described it as irrelevant GP, but…‘breaking news’…our election has been and gone and, judging by the result, it was not something as high up the electorate’s agenda as those of a right wing persuasion might have wished.

It’s certainly something which warrants discussion but not, as Swale has also suggested, in the hate fuelled obsessive manner that TTR goes about it. Tbf to him, he tried to start a thread specifically about immigration. Tbf to me…it failed to attract any attention on here and basically just ended up with him talking to himself.

As far as ‘the moderator’ is concerned any political threads are open house for subjects as they arise, under the banner of ‘the putting the world to rights thread(s)’.

Just fora bit of a change, why not check out / fact-check TTR’s numbers and offer a response? Not especially getting at you rA but in amongst his youtube scattergunning there’s some powerful stuff and currently only MA offers reasoned through responses. TTR might have made the numbers up for all I know but why not draw breath and consider it?

Probably because whilst there may be a grain of truth in Thickys ramblings, it is so jumbled up with falsehoods and outright lies that its not worth the effort? You can't argue with a sick mind and Thicky's is sicker than most.

So you choose not to respond to the issues raised but instead try to belittle the person. Just thinking who you share that approach with…ah! Got it.
