Of course we'll do it. We'll do it now, next year and forever more and he probably knows we'll do it, but for me this is the difference between having a Yank with no ties to the club whatsoever and say, having a lifelong fan who has the club at heart. I don't recall Eddie asking the fans to chip in to save the club. Again, we'll do it and always will as we love the club, but the man needs to open his eyes a bit. He's invested in our club and should realised how big a deal this is. You can't go and buy success then plead poverty when things don't work out. He's just emptied the coffers at DUSF when he probably has 100 times that amount sitting in a bank account somewhere.
He really has not taken over Dundee utd to get rid of his millions. He is not like eddie who was a diehard fan who sadly was dying and splashed out millions and put utd in millions of debt to try and win something. The foundation is there to raise money to help utd when they need it most or that is what I thought they were there for?The money the raise is to help utd not to fill it's coffers and have hundreds of thousands in the bank.I honestly don't think he would have thought of investing in utd if he had foreseen the pandemic and knew how much it would cost him.I have no Idea how much he has put into utd but guessing it is a lot more than me or any other normal supporter.Really if you or anyone else who is in the foundation are annoyed that he asked them to release money to help utd when utd are desperate for funds then maybe you should think about why you are putting money into the foundation.

The foundation is there to help the club but its main ambition's as far as i am aware were to help with capital projects and investing in the future development of players.
It is of course also there to help the club in times of crisis which i grant you the whole world is currently in but let's be honest here we are not going to look back on the pandemic and say that the £100,000 paid in instalment's by the DUSF saved the club from ADMIN.
The owner inadvertently has the media and many fans thinking that we are at a cliff edge and has damaged his investment,i would think the £100,000 he will eventually get from the DUSF maybe outweighed by fans deciding not to renew season tickets for 21/22 because of the uncertainty he has caused with his negative statement.

    Of course it is.

Wow, that isn't much at all in the grand scheme of things. Enough to ensure they made profit right enough.

[QUOTE=GUNBOAT;39701057]As much as would like to join James and blame the media the truth is that our Sporting Director and Owner painted the bleakest picture of all of Scotland's club's during the pandemic.
To me this was a major slap in the puss to their supporters who in many cases have poured more money into the club this season than ever before even though we received very little in return for our efforts. To take this board as an example all i have read from posters is,"They can keep my money i want nothing back from them."
It's a FACT that the majority of our support have accepted we cannot attend games this season and virtually no one has moaned about the money they paid to do so.The owner and his Sporting Director obviously live in a different world to the majority of the club's support many of whom probably need their season ticket money more than the club to pay bill's,buy food and electricity etc

    This ^^^

I posted earlier about the issue of use being so badly effected by the pandemic compared to other clubs etc. When the owner bought the club they surely must have realised that there is very little money in Scottish football! and before anyone jumps on and starts going on about they cld not have foreseen the financial implications of the pandemic. I get that. However there model surely cld not have been based on us getting into Europe doing well in cup games, and the revenue that wld bring. Yes they wld have budgeted in crowds etc. As tHeArAb said our owner is supposedly worth a few quid but we must have a fairly low wage bill compared to other clubs in the premiership. Our fans bought around 5,000 season tickets, which many of the clubs did not have the luxury off. Which provided a small cushion. Other owners in the premiership will be expected to bridge the gap during these difficult times why not ours? As fans we have went over and above most clubs with the foundation and contributed massively towards the legal fees. As far as I have seen many of us have stated that we do not want anything back and will purchase season tickets again! So come on MO and TA quit this negative rhetoric give us some positive news. The majority of us will stand by the club and will continue to contribute to DUSF to protect the academy. Times will get better but I’m sorry your loyal fans need a break!!

I don't think it's a negative that the club's owner has backed the foundation, quite the opposite in fact. You can see that by the uptake in memberships since.

I am bashing him because he does not think we should even be FN playing football which would further harm his investment as SKY won't pay out their TV money if we stop and fans quite rightly would probably ask for some money back as they cannot even watch games on TV anymore.
He can buy and sell me a million times over but by phuck he's got a lot to learn,FACT.

That is fair enough I agree with that and also can't see how he think he is going to make money out of utd?Only way I could see is to make us loads better then sell up for more than he has invested.I do not agree that he should be expected to just keep writting blank checks till he runs out of money and don't agree that the foundation should just keep collecting money in a bank account while utd are struggling to survive in a pandemic.

As of June 2019 (last accounts) it was £4.7m (not including the money he spent to buy the shares)
