I`m sure Warne checks everything possible with new signings, that`s his style.
Not sure how you can check if someone has the right stuff when it comes to pressure situations, the recent slide is very perplexing, this is the same players and style that was walking the league a few weeks back,at the end of the day if we finish top 2,then it wil have been a great season.

I guess you can only look at individual player's direct involvement with pressure games in their career, and talking to coaching staff who have worked with them about their performance in such situations. It's researchable but at the same time, players aren't robots and I would imagibne that those who have the playing talent and mentality that positively gets off on big pressure games, as opposed to visibly being anxious in their play, are most likely in the championship already and on wages that reflect this. I don't think it's not poss to research it though as times such as these are crucial to success. I know most of our team are brilliant people, and great footy ambassadors for the club but when the going has got tough, not many have got going recently!

Not overtly critical - our competitors are clearly feeling it too - just interested as to what extent that ruthless 'getting off on the big game' is researched when recruiting.

I'd say it's probably a very small factor if at all. Sporting history is riddled with examples of players who have seemed invincible one day to look like a quivering wreck the next. Too many other factors to suggest 'being up for it' is simply a formula for success.

I agree,it's impossible to measure or quantify.I remember when Newcastle were 12 clear in the Premier League in 96 and blew it and they simply couldn't stop the rot.Interestingly Keegan has a lot of similarities to Warne......highly sensitive, honest and wears his heart on his sleeve.

The Millers have conceded 31 goals this seaon, 11 less than anyone else in the division. And only you, with your vast knowledge of the game that you have never played, can see that 'the defence isn't right'

Very true but we can still do it with a positive mind set.
Anyone know how the injuries are?

We have a great record when scoring first.
We have a crap record when conceding first.

Out of the 7 away games we've conceded in we only scored 3 goals
