I don't know anything about Dunc's motivational or tactical nous.

But, I would like a real good motivator in the hot seat. I'd love to see our team develop an identity. We haven't got much leadership in the squad. But I'm warming to Fletch as someone that can maybe take on that mantle. But a good manager should also be a leader.

Maybe someone else could do the tactics (like Charlie and Tony) and Dunc can kick ass.

As much as he is the big hard man, he never comes across as a confident talker in interviews etc. Much like Badger. Both have been no.2's for a long time. I'm really not sure if Big Dunc is manager material and I don't think we can really afford to take the chance.

I would say right now that it’s Liam Fox’s to lose. When you think back to 12 months ago, TC was given the job as Big Tone seemed to be clear that the future strategy was to promote from within for continuity and for ‘buying in’ to the overarching Club strategy following MM’s tenure (who clearly did not ‘buy in’). Given that, after Tam left, the appointment of JR in hindsight feels like a wild u-turn and you reflect back and wonder why Fox wasn’t nominated in the first place.

Totally agree. Happy to give Fox a chance given the mentality of the players seems to be one where an arm round the shoulder from one of their mates is required as opposed to someone who is an actual manager with his own ideas & methods.

Dunc has Heggy Brewster Kirkwood and Luggy written all over it. I would be very surprised if he wants to start his solo managerial career with us and really hope he doesn't. But hell, we could do with some fire in this team and we know he would bring it.
Unless we don't continue the improvement we should stick with Liam Fox until the WC break and review it then.
