    Fair point Deeranged. Also worth backing up the point that you cannot tax your way to economic growth.

    Tell your friend that he is a Polish person living in Scotland and as a result he is subject to Scottish income tax.

    Deeranged, it is worth it. Islay's comment is the first I have seen for a while that shows an attempt at humour! He doesn't do humour, so I think you must be winning.

    It's not, he quoted a post by The AuldYin asking to tell their Polish friend - blah, blah, blah. It's me whose Polish friend is struggling to understand why he's being classed as a Scot just because he pays tax in Scotland.

    To his eternal credit though he did say he's grateful that he isn't paying tax in England or even worse - Russia. Imagine being considered as either of those - oooofffff.
