Keep ‘em coming. The more you post, the further off into the distance it goes

You see, something that doesn't exist is apparently receding into the distance.

You better have a lie down.

    Oh that's true.
But I'm not talking about floating voters, playing the PR game is important for them.
And what appeals, or doesn't appeal, to the electorate....I've long since given up trying to work out.
It's committed independence supporters who shy away from voting SNP for some perceived wrong that I can't fathom.

    Do they?

I've never really thought about it before but every SNP vote I've ever made was a vote for independence, not a vote for the party itself.

I never saw the SNP lasting five minutes in an independent Scotland, their main problem is that they have had to govern too long.

We need a change of government but not the bloody labour party, so a complete change within the SNP is the only way.

It's not people like you that will deliver independence I'm afraid as you are already "a vote in the bag", but there are not enough in that category to deliver independence as has been proven over the last eight years. The only way to get well above the 50% mark in the near term is to convert NO's to YES's (eventually demographics will help but that could be more than a decade away). The point that DD is making is that of the three candidates only Kate Forbes has a chance of doing that as the "acceptable face of independence" to NO voters - Houmsa is just Nicola mark 2 without the charisma and Ash is just too bat**** crazy
Aye, I get that.....I mentioned that in the previous post.
Politics is a personality driven game these days (I'm auld enough to remember when substance trumped style).

If a Kate Forbes led SNP can make good, crack on.
And if she can keep her nonsense out of policy and legislature, crack on more.

My anecdotal experience of the Frees is that they canna, but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.

I should point out that I know very little about the wee free church or whatever it is called so you being a bit further North may have a better insight in to their goings on.
Devout Wee Frees are a collection.

Rumour has it they're nae allowed to sh@g standing up in case the Lord thinks they're dancing.

As I said, if Kate Forbes keeps her nonsense out of policy and legislature, and education, then I have no issue with her believing what she wants to believe.

I'm now thinking what dance the Lord would think I was doing if he ever saw me sh*gging standing up.

    I'm in the same boat.
The SNP's problem now is, they are the natural party of government.
They have to balance the pursuit of independence with the real politik of government.
And handling a hostile, pro Unionist, media into the bargain.
