The two Labour MP's who were detained and arrested at the border of Israel reminds me of a quote I recall from a Jewish Holocaust survivor, "No country is immune to the forces of fascism - not even Israel." Unsurprisingly, Kemi Dimwit Badenoch backed the Israelis.

Oh dear, Lefties have such short memories, here is our 'fascist' Home Secretary refusing entry into the UK to a Dutch politician.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...h-mp-ban-islam

Geert Wilders, the rightwing Dutch politician accused of Islamophobia, was today refused entry to the UK after arriving at Heathrow airport in London. Wilders was due to show his 17-minute film Fitna, which criticises the Qur'an as a "fascist book", at the House of Lords today. But on Tuesday he received a letter from the Home Office refusing him entry because his opinions "threaten community harmony and therefore public safety". He arrived at Heathrow shortly after 2pm and was questioned by immigration officials. On the plane from Amsterdam, the controversial leader of the Freedom party told Dutch journalists he had travelled to Britain in December without any fuss. "I don't see why there's a problem with me this time," he said. "I don't understand why they allowed me to come before and not now."

Asked whether he had a message for the UK government, he said: "I would say to them, 'Even if you don't like me and don't like the things I say then you should let me in for freedom of speech. If you don't, you are looking like fascists.'"

It is never unusual to find the words, 'Labour', 'Lefty' and 'Hypocrisy' in the same sentence.

Dearborn US attorney Amir Makled was prevented from entering the US on a US Passport. "This current administration is doing something that no administration has done — they are attacking attorneys," Makled said. "This is a different type of threat to the rule of law that I see. They are now challenging the judiciary, or lawyers, they're putting pressure (on them) to dissuade attorneys from taking on issues that are against the government's issues. We have an obligation as lawyers to stand up to this stuff."

Customs and Border Protection Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham defended the agents' actions in a statement to the Free Press. He would.

Does the Sun Bed King have any idea of what he is doing..?

"President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on imported vehicles, which went into effect last week, are already sending tremors through the auto industry, prompting companies to stop shipping cars to the United States, shut down factories in Canada and Mexico and lay off workers in Michigan and other states.

Jaguar Land Rover, based in Britain, said it would temporarily stop exporting its luxury cars to the United States. Stellantis idled factories in Canada and Mexico that make Chrysler and Jeep vehicles and laid off 900 U.S. workers who supplied those factories with engines and other parts.

Audi, the luxury division of Volkswagen, also paused exports of cars to the United States from Europe, telling dealers to sell whatever they still had on their lots.

If other carmakers make similar moves, the economic impact could be severe, leading to higher car prices and widespread layoffs. The tariffs on cars are among the first of several industry-specific levies that Mr. Trump has in his sights and could offer early clues about how businesses will respond to his trade policies, including whether they raise prices or increase manufacturing in the United States. The president has said he also wants to tax the imports of medicines and computer chips."

I flit in and out of this thread but sometimes the posts are lengthy diatribes that I give up reading, not for lack of compassion but because i can read better informed reports elsewhere. I try to stick to footie posts but keep getting drawn in so now I occasionally bait BT as ii's a footie forum and i enjoy the banter but i know whatever I say this thread will endure because BT will ensure it and sinky will stoke the fire. So be it.

I'm intrigued Chris, I'd love to read better informed reports, but I can't find any, could you point me in the right direction.

As an apolitical animal observing your banter I have to say that it is good for a laugh ---even if the political content is deadly serious.
Whatever we may think or do ---it makes not one blind bit of difference to what 'they' do. Keep it up chaps. Amused in Ashington.
