Jjaflup it all about opinions and since none of us currently manage in the spfl ,well agree to differ on that one. Just praying Jeando is feckin awsome wherever he plays.
Could be worse couldn't it lads. We're talking about signing a Cameroon international and the Dees are no happy they might sign Osman Sow.....🤕
👍👍👍👍👍🥴🥴🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Harkes has clearly worked hard and his work rate on the pitch reflects this, nowhere near the finished article but is improving, does positive things in every game and is a threat in a positive sense especially with his runs.
Butcher and Pawlett are regressing as a midfielders and are a threat now to us in a negative sense, Butcher is too slow and does nothing except be a target for bookings. Pawlett doesnt do simple and confuses everyone with his final pass selections, loses the team possession in the wrong areas.
For me, a better midfielder would mean the real attacking penetration threats eg Chalmers and Shankland and I include Harkes can stop chasing back to cover the frequent errors made by the likes of Butcher and Pawlett.
MM clearly doesn't rate Powers and has acted, hopefully Fuchs is the link that allows our attack minded players to concentrate more on doing just that instead of burning energy covering players that are under performing.
I like Harkes, just wish he would start shooting, on target!
Agree OA and Terry - may also enable him to play more forward at times. Like Stoke said i dont really care as we are looking to sign a young full international from Spains top league. Whats not to like eh
Would certainly agree with your points on Butcher & Pawlett. Thankfully the manager seems to be sharing your view on Pawlett now.
I'd prefer this guy was a replacement for Butcher tbh, and the more I research him, the more I think he may be of that mould. What that means is that Harkes will now be seen as our creative central midfielder, of which I'm still to see. Cannot fault his work rate or energy but he needs to be contributing where it matters, by creating chances and chipping in with goals. Can cut him a bit of slack in that sense over the previous two seasons as he's been in the 'two' of a 4231, but if we're going with a 442 as per the last two games, then he needs to add that to his game. Shankland, and prior to that Safranko, have continuously had to come deep because we've had a lack of creativity. Sort that out in the middle of the park and we'll see the strikers benefit massively.
