Some good points and some not so good, but possibly a bit disappointing coming from the self-appointed driver of the Burchnall 'chips all in' bandwagon. No hashtags or choo-choos has to be a worrying sign.I understand that bar the Barnet game the perfomances have been mixed but I read earlier that every game since Barnet we have been poor. Really? If so we've been ever so lucky to not lose to anyone before yesterday and to score so many goals.
I know we've had an easy start to the season on paper that can't be argued and as I've only seen two games this season I asked earlier how many teams have deserved to beat us this season? Wrexham for sure anyone else?
As for "we shouldn't be in the league" of course we should we fully deserved to be relegated and the 2 seasons we've been here we haven't been quite good enough to get promoted. Sadly size of club, history in higher leagues, attendances etc means s0d all once you are sh!t enough to finish 91st/92nd in the football league. That's your punishment. Blame former managers and owners not the curry ones.
I realise many fans can't get their heads around us being in NL, can't get over the relegation season (that's very apparent with the regular and seemingly endless analysis of who is to blame)
I get it it's embarrassing to be at this level for us, and any former league club that has been relegated before us. It is without a doubt. But this attitude of we are better than this, we shouldn't be in this league means whenever we don't beat a smaller traditional NL side there is an overreaction every single time. A cloud of mild panic sweeps over Facebook and NCM as the realisation that we probably aren't the best or one of the best sides in the league rears its ugly head again. It's happened many times every season we've been at NL level. Patience is rarity amongst the majority of footy fans hence the willingness for the 'boom or bust' to be repeated even after all those examples of us wasting money and overspending and getting into huge financial difficulties.
By the same score when we beat one of these traditional NL teams the attitude is very ... well we should shouldn't we?
It's never going to equally balanced for that very reason.
If we could all close our eyes, click our heels and magically be back in L2 we would. Sadly it doesn't work like that. So we either risk the boom and bust and go through an embarrassing number of managers and demand new owners or we learn to change our ways and be patient, trust the longer term approach.
Well that's my view anyway.
