I would love to know how LW could be accused of not taking the competition
seriously, if you take out the three defensive mistakes, (the first goal more due to a bad pass and a loss of footing than a mistake), we win the game.
He has explained about the balancing act, of putting out competitive teams, for league and cup games, very recently, due to squad size.
It would be nice to hear about how Sanderson did, when he came on last night from anyone who went to the game. It was great that he scored, but will attract a lot of attention.

I think he touched the ball 3 times, one of them was a composed finish.

Can't really add to that apart from saying it will always be a memorable moment for him.

It's pretty obvious that he doesn't take it seriously with a quick glance at his team selections. In every single cup game we've played under him so far he's played a weakened team. I've understood the reasons until last night, but there I think he got it wrong. I'm sure every team he puts out plays to win, but if that was a league game do you think that we would have started without Cameron, O'Brien, Crowley, Jones and Langstaff?

The plus point is that our weakened team would have beaten their weakened team without the defensive catastrophes. They were poor, but we got what we deserved because you can't gift wrap 3 goals for your opponents.

I saved myself over £50, possible train problems, frostbite and apoplexy by swerving last night's game. If the club isn't prepared to take this competition seriously then I'm certainly not prepared to put my hand in my pocket for it. I ended up watching the second half of Monza v Juventus and saw a masterclass of defending from Juve, quite refreshing after watching us this season.

Seeing the clown defending close up, actually makes it seem worse than watching it live.

Can someone please explain "no recruitment" ,that was mentioned earlier, to me. Does that mean no recruitment in defence? No new defenders brought in?

Whatever was meant by no recruitment Jackal2 response was excellent.

In terms of the team selection it is fine to be angry or annoyed by it. Personally I was disappointed by it and that initial feeling when seeing the team sheet was valid but nobody should be surprised. You just knew it was coming.

Williams can always say he is giving players out of the team a chance to get in it with a good performance in the cup matche. Did any impress last night, if so who?

Ultimately he views it very much secondary to the league which is fine by me. Now it's time for him to spend a week training focusing on defending and for the recruitment team to line up a deal or two.

Completely agree, some posters on here have lost their minds.
The injury time effort from morias goes in and bingo.
Thought we played well and would have won with that team takeaway the 3 mistakes.
