So, nothing in or out as yet.
Any deal sheets pending or is it a damp squib of a deadline day?

Jake Rooney brought in on loan from Derby and nobody out.
    Central defence strengthened at least.

Well that’s probably the main gap filled.
Look around out of contracts for a striker. You never know.

You are right Ollas , it would not surprise me at all to see us pick up a player off the out of contract list to support the striker dept but overall I am delighted that we have held on to our better players, in fact to be honest I am stunned , in the past I have been very critical of our current owners but I will pat them on the back for their efforts this summer window , in my opinion its been a great window.

Shads my view is slightly different.
I also applaud the retention of the players we all thought might be targets for other clubs.
Were we able to achieve this because no serious interest was shown in them or did we rebuff any incoming interest?
Secondly after a season where we conceded over 80 goals, our defence needed a radical overhaul. Ok we?ve swapped 2 fullbacks but central defence was and still is the real problem. Since the kick of the last ball last season we?ve achieved nothing significant in addressing that shortcoming other than sign a kid who has just been injured for 2 years and has a career 12 appearances in senior football. I hope he?s an asset but it looks like we?re giving him the chance to rebuild his career without anything on paper that shows he?ll benefit us.
As for the striker shortage, that goes on and we?ve no back up.
All in all mixed feelings about the window from me

Do not disagree with any of your comments Ethel but you have omitted Shepherd from the equation who I think has already improved us, I also think the shape of the team and the set up and style we have adopted also provides cover for the defence and we are improving defensively , having said all that a Solbaur type defender would have great but we have what we have and hopefully Roberts will not be long to add to the options .

It?s too early for me to make judgement on Shepherd, he?s only had a handful of outings at this level, albeit on the back of what has been described as a successful loan in the division below. It?s Earl and mael the mistake that give me the gitters. They?re not a patch on the Thomas and Kitching partnership that preceded them. How many goals do we concede through schoolboy defending or individual howlers? We saw another example on Saturday. The overhaul wouldn?t have included full backs unwanted by their clubs but with little wriggle room financially I suppose you have to take what you can get. We?ve been doing that for long enough now.
As for the style of play, we may be more solid but the central midfield role needs stability and 6 games in we?ve used yoganathan, bland and cameos from Russell alongside Connell. There?s time for that to develop.
I smell something not healthy regarding Russell. His body language isn?t right. I hope he?s not sulking.
    Anyway onwards and upwards hopefully
