Surely we wouldn't be signing a Cameroon International if we were struggling financially? Doesn't make sense.

Even putting aside the initial uncertainty of which division we were to be playing in this season, was there not talk of two budgets to cover either scenario.? If that's the case, the club have had over 6 months to draw up transfer targets for each league. I know circumstances have changed but by not furloughing our staff like hibs, hearts etc who are now splashing the cash and making ump**** signings, has that eaten away any transfer budget we may have had.? Or are our targets just turning us down.?

Agreed S...
Here can we no get shot of guys like King get them aff the wage bill?
There's a hell of a lot of "guys like King" we should be getting rid of but unfortunately it not that easy mate. Who wants them? We'll never ever land as lucky as we did getting rid of Curran to the FUN thus taking a 3 Yr contract off our hands.
Players going out on loan is the only way I can see us getting any financial benefit from these players that seem out of the picture ,even if its a small amount of money paid towards their wages and I can't see us signing any more unless players move on .
I've always been pretty optimistic we had targets lined up and were playing the waiting game to see what we could get from down South, now with days remaining, barring a last couple of days signing spurge like the one which saw Sow, Pawlett, Reynold etc arrive... I'm concerned we are going to end up with not enough quality coming in. The lad McNulty is not exactly huge so unless he has blinding pace, we're still going to be limited to the same way we are playing now. You could have 2 Shanklands up there and it doesn't make a difference if you can create chances. We need someone to compliment him. Even some boring safe Aberdeen style signings e.g. proven SPL players such as Gregg Stewart would tidy us over for the next couple of seasons.
Bizarrely, once Coonty take their hiding off Newco this afternoon, we will move into seventh which pre season was pretty well where we were hoping to be. Worst case scenario of being bottom with about four points has not come to pass. Yet. But if someone had told you that we would be without Sir Lawrence for most of the season and had pretty well gone with the Championship squad otherwise, you would call our current position an unqualified success. But it doesn’t feel like that off the back of Friday night.
What is clear is that two or three quality additions based on what we’ve seen of the League so far will have us finish comfortably mid table. Please, please tell me that the Club realise that a little bit of short term outlay is going to save them massive long term losses by ensuring avoiding relegation??????????
Dundee United is delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old Jeando Fuchs from La Liga side Deportivo Alavés.
