Labour would have walked this election had they gone into it offering significant increases in public spending as opposed to an endless confetti of spending promises, being honest about where the money was coming from, not promising ideologically driven nationalisations and with a leader who does not have a history of friendliness with terrorists organisations a record of inaction on antisemitism and of ambivalence towards NATO and our relationship with America, but they didn’t.

Dont agree but not going to revamp the debate. Collar pup for that. I truly believe it was a 1 issue election, Brexit. Secondary, was whether Corbyn is fit to govern (I know this question came up on the doorstep most).

If Labour had promised to deliver Brexit they'd have had an outside chance. Corbyn chose not to. That alone must ask serious questions of his leadership.

Agree Labour went too far on many promises. But, if theyd scaled back I doubt it would have changed the outcome.

The long-standing Labour areas who voted Tory will benefit from it as it means they will no longer be taken for granted and Labour and the Tories will be fighting for their votes so they will get things they wouldn't have got.

I think the only reason this didn’t happen in 2017 was because of May having such a dreadful campaign. But the fact that the London elites on corbyns front bench wanted another referendum (which in a lot of people’s view was a fixed referendum) sunk them as bad as the titanic.

If it wasn’t for people who have been brainwashed from birth I think this could have been much worse for labour.
