31 games to go, only one team have a better record than us over the last 5 games.

Far, far too early to be calling anything on automatic promotion etc.

Torquay (who have shown tonight they are beatable) to play twice.

The season is shaping up ok, could be better but I feel quite comfortable with how things are.

I think all of you have missed the real reason we won this game. Once again QP's lucky dog walk while the game is on. Since Covid I've walked the dog 9 times while listening to Notts mid week games If I don't get a stream purchased and we've never lost. Buying the labrador a Notts shirt for Christmas.

I beg to differ, Queensland, but it’s obviously because I make sure I recycle the plastics exactly 45 minutes before every home game since October (must have got my timings wrong for those Boreham Wood/Maidenhead games). But you should definitely buy your lab a Notts shirt for Christmas anyway, because that just sounds cool.

Interestingly, despite everyone thinking our form has been erratic we are now up to second in the last 6 form table, just above Torquay on GD. Top of the form table is Altrincham, yes Altrincham who have won 5 of their last 6.

Dagenham’s win at Torquay last night and the fact Torquay have now gone two games without a win provides a glimmer of hope that maybe they have had the rub of the green and their early season form isn’t sustainable after all.

    Slowly, slowly as they say.

Very entertaining reading that match thread - anyone would think they were in the bottom three based on most of the comments on their season thus far. Football fans really are the same the world over.

Stockport did seem to give him all the space he wanted, didn't they? They didn't play wide at all so their concentrated play in the middle allowed DKE and Enzio to run the wings, I've no doubt if Thomas or Sam were alongside Wooton we would have scored another couple of goals.

I've noticed a definite shift in tone in this thread.

Who would they have replaced though?

Hindsight tells me that we could have dropped Rodrigues but that could have backfired. Take your pick of midfielders, I suppose. If Reeves were dropped he couldn't have scored. The team as a whole improved as the game went on, so looking back it would look like Ardley got it right rather than just playing only one striker was the right thing to do.
