Meant they scored 2. Not two down as such!

My mistake could have been worse. Imagine being the guy doing the bbc formation for Notts!

That annoys me too. I don't think they ever update those formations below the fourth division.

They probably just assume any dinosaur team who isn't in the 'proper' league is automatically playing 'four, four f***ing two'

And to cap off a cr@p day for Neal he’s out of the FA Cup too, losing at Banbury.

Of course we don't want to be conceding goals, but I am really happy tonight with where we are, a win, still unbeaten, 3 goals scored, best goal difference in the league, Lacey back, Wootton on 4 goals already and Cal on the score sheet.

No cheering up needed for me.
It's because he is obsessed with Ardley.

Watching that takes me back to a place I don't want to revisit.

A classic NCM kneejerk post here, it's a good job football matches last for 90 mins.

Shambolic defending at times - not at all conducive to a promotion winning side.

Extra bit of class for the winner - which may yet see Notts go up.

Need to be much much better defensively (like at Wrexham for the most of the game)

Had that been a better team Notts could have easily ended up losing.

    Tru dat.

That's why you can't take anything said during the game too seriously on the match thread. If you did you would think the vast majority of games we were cr@p and instead you are best going off for a walk and spot of food shopping.

Too many Lance Corporal Jones' and doom and gloom merchants about during the 90 mins. They appear to enjoy it each week and get a kick out of being melodramatic.

I couldn’t make the game yesterday so it’s handy having a match thread to look over when possible….though I’m guessing that the comments made in the thread are mainly by people who aren’t actually there, so perhaps not a good representation of the game?

    What I’ve gathered is….

We started slow, poor tempo and dithered about with it at the back. Aldershot, who started slow, realised that weren’t at the races so started to press us higher up the pitch. We get a goal but then give away another one by not stopping another cross.

IB changes it at half time yet again but before the changes take effect Aldershot take the lead. We start to click and get two goals to take the lead….which we could’ve built on. The 4-3-3 formation allowed us to play at a higher tempo and the players looked more comfortable in that setup.

    Is that close?

    Pretty much.

Absolutely superb to have a manager who spots a problem on 40 minutes and takes off a defender for an attacking player at half time. It was ballsy, entertaining and best of all it worked.

    Well done IB.

Defensively we were messy at times but we have shown that if we need to play a more compact game we can (away at Wrexham) but IB has no intention of doing that at home against sides that are there for the taking.
