One question posed at the Forum which hasn’t aired here was from the floor and it was about shooting, testing their GK more often, having a punt from the edge of the box etc.
The reply from IB went something along the lines of, statistically most goals scored are one-touch into the net. It came across to me that the players are encouraged to keep the passing going until they can score like Arsenal rather than shoot. Don’t know if anyone else remembers that and if they read it as I did.

I know it’s difficult for the fans of any club, but we have to be patient. The owners, in combination with IB, seem to have a long term plan which is similar to the Brentford model. Brentford didn’t achieve their success in the space of one season (I’ve forgotten how many playoff failures they had) and we won’t either.

But to me it appears that we’re now getting it right off the pitch, and that can be the basis of long term success. Unlike splashing out on a few expensive signings.

Is that a joke? Are you saying Manchester City Chelsea etc are not having long term success .
I've yet to be dazzled by camellia eyes and I'm beginning to wane from his broken record excuses.

First loss of the season last weekend. You must have forgotten what it's like.
I honestly think we'll get a result tomorrow and it'll be back to normal. Longer term I'm not so confident but in this game you can never rule anything out.

I think you remember it correctly, but he kind of reluctantly agreed they can mix in some long shots

We're all happy with IB's stewardship of the club - great to have a bright, modern, forward-thinking Head Coach.

Here's a 'but' I'd like to throw out there though...he's so into it that he might be a bit too controlling, by implementing all of his ideas he might be stifling others.
Younger managers can be like that, if you fast forward their careers by a decade or so they might look back and think, yeah that might've been a bit too much...

One example from the coaching videos. Ruben was practising free-kicks after the session. IB told him to stop and only do 8 in future. I get the idea of quality over quantity, but I don't think the likes of Beckham, Platini got to their level like that. Young players might get deflated by being controlled like that, let them breathe. IB will probably get their with more experience but if the stats and methods control players' expression and joy of the game and then that's a net negative I think.
