1st place is still within reach and must continue to be the target. 2 points per game is what is required to win the title at this level and we should be on 32 points by now so we are 4 points short of that. Win on Tuesday and that closes it to 3 points. It's not many points to claw back over the amount of games left.

Chesterfield may have more than that at the moment and 1 defeat in 16 is impressive but we can't worry about them we can only control what we do. Plus they will drop points soon and will lose just like we did today. A 2.2ppg that they currently have at this level throughout the season is not typically sustainable as the league is too competitive. That would be 97 points over a 44 game season and that's a tough ask playing 46 games.

Only Lincoln and Cheltenham in the past seven years have achieved more than 2ppg when they have won the title. So the question is are Cheaterfurlough that good to be able to maintain their current form for 2/3rds of the season?

But the reason we are like man utd, is because of our rich heritage and past history, and much higher league positions in the past

Makes no sense Davy. Firstly Utd I believe are definitely in the top 3 spend wise over the past couple of seasons.
Secondly what’s our history got to do with anything this season?

Solihull, despite our magnificant performance, rooney should have levelled on 80 mins, it was his poor strike, not IB, brilliance, it was not 1-1, notts would probably have lost after that point
So for me 2 wins that were quite fortunate, and not the world beaters some were making out
Rubbish. I wasn't at Grimsby so can only go by the opinions of others, but the general concensus seems to be that both teams were poor, and we were a bit lucky to get three points. I was at the Solihull game however, and anything but three points for us would have been a travesty. You keep banging on about the Rooney miss, but we missed easier chances, and 2-0 flattered them more than us.

One win may have been quite fortunate, but the other one definitely wasn't.

Who said it was the best in 30 years? I missed that comment.
It was me who said Notts fans haven't had much to be positive about for 30 years or so, and that our style of football under IB and results of late have given Notts fans something to be positive about.
I think i've been slightly misquoted to suit his arguement

So we lose and Davy spends all of Saturday night on here!

That's rubbish about Solihull. I honestly can't remember them having 3 good chances. And just because Rooney had one chance does not mean that our defence was poor. There's not a team in the world who never give a single chance to the other team every game.

I don't think we will get auto promotion but it's far too early to write us off now.

What i said still stands, for me everything went right for notts last week, they were put under no pressure,

i asked the question, what would happen if a team puts us under pressure, would we collapse, the last 2 matches have given us the answer as i predicted, weak at the back, and will fall apart under pressure
If this is the best in 30 years, and IB is a championship manager, i am landing on the moon tomorrow, complete fantasy, i do not mind people celebrating a win, but no need for them to go completely over the top, and get carried away

    Evening Davey
with regards you quote " i do not mind people celebrating a win, but no need for them to go completely over the top, and get carried away" surely this works both ways?

    If only lol

Any positive overreaction I've seen pales in significance to the more common negative version. If you've not witnessed this on NCM you aren't blinkered you are blind.

I don’t mind people having different views but I find it odd Davy only seems to post when we lose basically telling everyone he was right and hardly anything when we win.
I don’t think he can get his head around we are in the NL, I probably struggled the first season but it is what it is. He also seems to think we should be straight out of it, ignoring the facts especially this season we aren’t the biggest spenders, there are surprise results about every week which is what you get with lower league football, Wrexham and Stockport fans have experienced quite a few. As for people getting carried away I don’t think anyone is. As for the Solihull game I’m not sure which game he was watching.
