In American football, the phrase is ‘next man up’ where a team suffers a significant injury, the guy behind him in that position needs to be good enough and motivated enough to step into that role and make it his own.

Randall, Morias, Gosling, Tobi A, Tipton…

Then add in JoB, Rawlinson, the discussion over stone etc…
And it’s clear we don’t have quality in depth, or depth in size either.

That’s a failure of recruitment and having such a small squad.
    Absolutely agree, perfectly argued.

So unlucky to come away with nothing. Totally dominated them but didn't get that bit of luck.
A word for the supporters, never stopped singing. Very proud to be a part of them tonight.

LW: Most emotional I've been since Wembley, I feel so proud of the players..... Hope this is a chance for us to move forward.

Dave Challinor says Notts were "the best team we'll play this season."

Hopefully in the return fixture LW will say Stockport were the best team we've beaten all season.

We certainly outplayed Stockport but just didn't have the quality to open them up and nothing on the bench plus our usual error.

Have you seen the size of American Football squads, not a great analogy.

Due to the fact they have three separate teams so to speak with O D and ST.
You move that to 11 main players across the whole game and there is always a player who wants it behind the player who is currently in.
Budget…yes I agree cash is king, but if we want to play in the style we do consistently, regardless of manager, then the recruitment needs to be spot on when bringing in and knowing when to cut players.

Let’s not make him a scapegoat, but Randall? Can anyone see Junior Morias leading our attack line for a long period of time? Rawlinson. Love his commitment and loyalty to the club, just like JoB, but they’re not up to the standard we need.

Money wasn’t supposed to be the issue, more of a philosophy.
I reckon we need bigger, stronger for a reason.

On a side note, I thought Cameron played ok tonight. I’ve made my dislike of his style of play known, but fair play tonight, he stayed on his feet, ran the ball forwards more and commanded the back line.
Play like that every week though please KC!
