The problem is not him and his development or game time, its that we needed players NOW, every single penny should have been spent on that first team to ensure the short term future of us in the premier, not boys who need development when we already have an academy full of them and boys like Mochrie and Glass in the same role.

Next thing we know he's on loan to Forfar. Its a strange one to say the very least. Would've preferred we signed someone to fight for a place in the first team. That's what we need right now. Maybe rumours of MM being pissed off true after all.

Why sign the guy in the in the first place then if he has 4 players already in front of him? If we think the likes of Forfar are going to improve him he cant be very good, certainly not 'Premiership ready' like we were told.

Here's my take. Asghar wanted to sign him when Neilson was in charge. Neilson said no. Asghar then wanted to sign him once Neilson left. MM either feels slightly pressured into signing an Asghar player, or is desperate because he knows we aren't going to sign many players in this window and reluctantly agrees. He then tells the fans the boy is Premiership ready to keep us happy, when he himself knows fine well the boys nowhere near being ready for the Premiership.

We're then told MM is pissed off at certain aspects of our transfer policy. Two days later the player he told Utd fans was ready for the Premiership is off to Forfar on loan. Bizarre if you ask me.

No doubt we need players now for the first team, but I’d be alarmed if we weren’t looking to the future also, and don’t see why the two strategies can’t run side by side.

Correct - as long a we have a strategy - not Csaba's old tombola.

You might be right but the only flaw in the theory is I can't see MM lying to the support over something like that because he's got nothing to gain from it. He could just as easily have said he was happy to see the club signing great future prospects and no-one would have expected the boy to feature in the first team or be surprised when he got loaned out. I have to trust MM and SF on this but I think the lad should have got a couple of run outs as a sub in the League Cup games. Then fair enough if it's obvious he's not ready loan him then.
My concern is we may have signed a player who knows he's better than some getting a game and he's in a new country having to travel to Forfar. Who knows it might be the making of him.

Who knows mate. The whole 'Premiership ready' then not actually giving him a game, then sending him to Forfar, is just wierd. If he's off to Forfar then he's a long way off being Premiership ready so why say it? Most of us had already assumed that he wasn't given his background. It's just a bizarre signing & turn of events.

It's better to play competitive games (assuming they do at some point) as opposed to not?
