I cannot change what i have always posted about agent Mac,i correctly predicted relegation for the Dees when Jim came without wee Billy,as i originally said i will back the new manager but he was never the club's NO1 choice and NONE of us are entitled to direct any abuse towards Tony IF things go tits up.

I will always be onhand to remind posters in the future that neither the owner or sporting director are to blame for failure on the park because they had a different path for the club but the outraged blocked it,FACT.
Thing is though mate, you don't know for a FACT that the outraged blocked us going for Mackay. Maybe Tony just didn't fancy him after speaking to him. How much of the following statement by Asghar would've applied to Malky Mackay - "Having known Micky for many years, his record of being a winner cannot be understated and his enthusiasm and standing in the game make him an ideal fit to the culture at Tannadice. He is a players’ manager and someone who will embrace the fans and local community which is highlighted by him moving to the local area with his family".

I think Malky would've take the job purely to get back into football. He wouldn't have given a f*ck if we were Dundee Utd or Oxford Utd. Mellon seems excited to be coming here and to be given the chance to prove himself in the Scottish Premiership.

I dont plan on directing any abuse at anyone if it goes tits up. Picking the right manager for your club must be one of the hardest jobs in football. Mackay and McClaren were both massive names to be linked with the job, they didnt end up here. Door closed as far as I'm concerned. I'll back Mellon all the way. If he turns out sh1te, he'll leave and we'll find someone else. I've seen it mentionee on another forum, since Jim left, only 2 managers have actually left the clubs to go somewhere else (Levein and Neilson) with the club and squad in a fairly healthy condition. The stats tell us that Mellon is likely to fail as did the other dozen (maybe more than that) who have held the role since the mid 90s. But he'll have my full backing as I'm sure he'll have yours GB.

I just honestly think that Malky Mackay deserved a chance to restore his reputation both on and off the park but he has been discriminated against, now i thought that is what the protests were all about?,or is that only if your black?.
I was more interested in talking about our new manager mate, I've got no interest in talking about all of the above on a football forum.

Malky Mackay has not managed a club for years but you point to his previous record as the glowing recommendation. Micky Mellons club have just been relegated on a technicality and you are only concerned with that, and not the 4 promotions he achieved in previous seasons. So Malky’s past matters but Mickys doesn't? Of the 2 I'll take the one that didn't damage his own reputation. Saying Malky didn't get the job because a black man was killed by an ex police officer ( serving police officer at the time) is absolutely ridiculous. Malky’s text were racist and because he was high profile, he was found out and he's had to pay the price for his misdemeanours. Its nobody's fault but his own, you can rehabilitate all you want but that doesn't mean it goes away, some people forgive and some people don't, that's life. I for one have absolutely no allegiance to Malky Mackay, but I do love Dundee United. Am I sorry my club is not being tarnished? Am I ****. We have enough ****e of our own to deal with right now to give any ****s about Malky flaming Mackay. We have a new man in charge now and he has my absolute support. Let it go man.

Was my two day racist suspension good enough BTW?.Have you never read my post about getting my black step brother a ticket for the 1994 cup final?.I just dinnie get my knickers in a twist like you do when a joke gets posted.
Its with much good fortune that my step brother doesnie get offended like you do either,i got in touch with him tonight and he is FN gutted that Malky never got the gig.
His words were,"G he wiz bang oot of order we them texts but he's worked for years for the SFA and our supporters should have let it go".

I do not need to let anything go but the outraged should have and our football team would have been in safer hands tonight,FACT.

Discriminated against for being a racist? Good one, are you related to Malky by any chance?

Lots of assumption about why Mackay didn't get the job. We all assumed Tommy Wright didn't get an interview because he couldn't work with a DOF, when in actual fact he has an agreement with St. Johnstone not to manage another Premiership club for six months. So I dont think anyone can can assume anything when it comes to reasons why we didn't go for any specific candidate. Maybe Mackay came across as a smug pr*ck when he was being interviewed? The only FACT is we all know f*ck all.

Anyway, let's not be disputing why we didn't go for Malky Mackay. Our new manager is Micky Mellon so let's get behind our man. It's the start of a new era for the Tangerine Army!

I honestly wish Micky all the best, the main worry for me was any of the Hearts coaches getting the job and fortunately that never happened.I do not think Tony has appointed the outstanding candidate available but he has done the best he could for the club in the circumstances.

I will of course give the new manager my full support as usual.
