McLean is a loanee because Norwich wanted to secure before the summer.
We knew Kenny was away in the summer and this loan just ensure that was maintained.

Woodman was an emergency signing as the management team obviously did not have enough confidence in Rogers, who was not offered a new contract.
We'll only be replaceing one keeper in the summer

    Christie, Chidi, Stewart and Ball

Signing the likes of Ball may have been a way of filling the gap until Devlin came on board.
We targetted Devlin before he was injured and he was out of contract this summer.

Everyone thought Christie was a god signing to help cope with the loss of Hayes and McGinn.

Chidi came in as back up when we loaned out Tansay

Look at the other top 6 teams.
They have plenty on loan as well.
    For those who are interested,

Celtic 4 players on loan, Huns 5 players on loan, Hibs 5 players on loan, Kilmarnock 4 players on loan, Hearts 5 players on loan.

    Hearts have also this week signed 2 players on pre-contracts;

AFC get your fingers out at start making signings or are you going to come out with excuses as we have a new stadium to build

Looks more than that, if you add in loans occured in the first half of the season.

    Celtic - 4
    Charly Musonda
    Odsonne Edouard
    Scott Bain
    Patrick Roberts

    Sevco - 8 (3 in first half)
    Jason Cummings
    Declan John
    Jamie Murphy
Aaron Nemane (First half of season)
    Dalcio (First Half of Season)
    Sean Goss
    Russell Martin
Joe Doodoo (First half of season)

    Hibs - 6 (1 in first half)
    Faycal Rherras
    Scott Allan
    Jamie Maclaren
    Brandon Barker
Scott Bain (First half of the season)
    Florian Kamberi

    Hearts - 6
    Steven Naismith
    Demitri Mitchell
    Ashley Smith-Brown
    Joaquim Adao
    Connor Randall
    David Malinkovic

    Kilmarnock - 5
    Alexander Samizadeh
    Stuart Findlay
    Aaron Tshibola
    Jasko Keranovic
    Aaron Simpson

Looking at the above, our loanees are predominantly used as back up.
The other top 6 loanees are mostly main starters

    What was terrible about it?

We gained use of a player who enhanced the team, a player we couldn't afford. He's going back to Celtic to get punted down south or sit on their bench. He won't become a regular player with them.

Can't see that being a terrible bit of business at all tbh.

Our loanees are used as back up because they are simply a waste of a wage and plainly not good enough. Hiring a player should mean you are getting someone fit for purpose but we just hire benchwarmers.

It suited one club. Celtic found out that he is not up to the standard they require without compromising their team.

I don’t want to cheer on Celtic players. I don’t want to help Celtic FC in any way shape or form. Aberdeen FC should be seen as more than Celtics feeder club.

The Christie move is a turd no Aberdeen fan should try & polish

Christie has been a good player for us,if the club had any ambition other than to qualify for Europe they wouldn’t have sold our best player to Celtic without getting Christie on a permanent deal first.

If we could get him on a permanent deal this summer I would be happy with that.

It's all very well naming players from other teams that are on loan but what do they have in common with the Christie deal?

    **** all.
