The Rodrigues miss was am absolute shocker I imagine it looked just as bad for all those in attendances as it did for any Notts fan watching on TV (minus the painful replays).

What made it so mystifying was he's such a good header of the ball as we've seen throughout his career at Notts with some great finishes with his head including at Borehamwood the other day.

Thankfully it didn't cost us thanks to a lovely cross by Cal and finish by Big Kyle. That man to rescue once again.

We deserved the win though as we created more as you would hope would be the case at home to Daggenham

A ***** win it was after the two previous results.

Yes, can't fault the commitment, the game was reasonably entertaining and we took all three points. It's just that overall, you can see why we've dropped points and why we will drop more points, because we struggled to beat a team out of form - and apparently depleted through injuries.

The table looks pretty good right now, I'm guessing most would have accepted our current position going into December if they'd been told that's how it would look at the start of the season. The obvious blemish is that we've played a game or two more than our rivals and the goal difference isn't great. Things are going OK but having twice had our hands bitten off trying to grasp the play off prize, or three times including Coventry, we really want that top spot - which still looks unlikely at this stage. Not impossible, but it's not a safe bet either.

Yes, there's too much 'our best chance is the play-offs' nonsense with our fans.

The play-offs are terrible! 6 really good teams with average odds of 16.66% of making it. That's Russian roulette odds so not sure why so many seem happy to pull that trigger!

We're 4pts behind C'field and play them twice still. There's still 26 games so it's in our own hands. Sure it's going to be really tough, but please don't give the signal Upies that play-offs are OK and we're happy with that. They're not. We need to hear from IB and the boys that we're going for top and for them to talk about the gap to 1st and get it closed. That way we're more likely to get 2nd or 3rd as consolation (where the average odds are more like 30% chance).

I think January is going to define our season.

    Both in departures and arrivals.

    Long way to go yet.

I don’t want to hear them tell us their going for top, they just need to do it on the pitch. All their going to do by putting out bold statements is put pressure on themselves, you don’t hear Pep and Klopp saying that, they downplay their chances to keep the pressure off the players.

Haven't they said that's the target already?

Exactly Matt . That can only serve to motivate the opposition and any title rival. Absolutely pointless just to appease a small proportion of the fanbase.

When will some Notts fans finally learn that "talk is cheap"? It's like when fans demand to hear news regarding transfer activity through the usual media sources in advance of any player officially putting pen to paper. Have they forgotten the false promises and overambitious statements of former chairmen?

It looks okay, I think Burch was probably about right when he gave it 6/10 before this game. It’s more frustrating because you don’t have to look far to get the 4-6 points we’d need to be right with Chesterfield. Have definitely dropped too many stupid points, although most teams could probably point to where they’ve done the same.

We’ve also had what must be the toughest set of fixtures so far out of anyone. Of the four teams we’ve not played, three are the current bottom three, and two of those appear to be bad enough that it’s almost a gimme three points (trust us to mess them up, though). Compare that to Chesterfield, who are yet to play Notts, Stockport, Halifax or Grimsby. We’ve also played away against the teams in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th, and you can add 1st placed Chesterfield to that in a couple of weeks. Bromley are the only one of the current top seven to visit ML, so we have the vast majority of our likely promotion rivals to visit us in the second half of the season with the away trips mostly out of the way.
