Trouble is, we aren't very good at 'em bar under Warnock

The problem I have is IB is to Notts as Ricardo Moniz was, right manager wrong time.

IB setup will work amazing league 2, 1 as was Moniz League 1 Championship.

I love the football we are playing but in back of my mind I always think in the past how many teams got promoted from the NL playing attractive football. P's me off. We are a good team. Just other teams work us out too easily, we cant suprise them.

I think that might just be the first time I've ever heard a Notts manager describe a single odd goal scored in the first half of a match as a "killer blow". That's effectively saying it was game over with 45 minutes left to play and only one goal behind.

I'm not sure you could ask for much more from Burch though. We've all made excuses for managers in the past about their hands being tied, or that they don't have their own team, or they're having to play somebody else's team. Well, that applies to Burch and always will do, so long as we have this model the owners are seemingly intent on sticking with.

There will be better managers out there, but none with any self respect would come to Notts unless it's purely for the money. A big part of the job satisfaction has got to come from building a team, buying and selling. No manager at Notts is going to be able to do that.

Fair enough, the game may have changed with the merry-go-round and it's not financially viable for Notts to go back down that route of allowing the manager to manage and not just coach, but we;ve got to recognise that when it comes down to only two promotion places, we're going to be at a disadvantage so long as the goal is promotion and not just holding our own in the league we're in.

But agree with you that there's still all to play for...

The postponements, especially of the Barnet game, did have an effect - because they let it have an effect.
Our team is a confidence and momentum team...they've got to make it happen themselves when they need to, the team's character has to be more resolute, focussed, ruthless and nasty! They're going to have to find those qualities if we're going to have any chance at all.

Final point - I'm not sure about the loanees - Parsons seems to have been signed because they were looking for insurance while trying to get Richardson. Brunt as insurance if we lost a player in the window. We needed different players really.

At least 4 of Knowles’ goals came when he started games, so that’s not accurate.

The thing we’re missing this season in comparison to the past two is worldies - wonder strikes that nick you a point or all three in a tight game. Enzio and Reeves were good for a dozen of them.

Strange criticism, perhaps, but right now we only appear able to score team goals. Even the goals from set pieces appear to have dried up. And our flowing football appears to be reserved for Meadow Lane. Let’s hope that doesn’t dry up, or we won’t even make the playoffs.

At home we're a very entertaining team with a good record, but away from Meadow Lane we look too vulnerable and are too often outbattled.
Even more of a reason why we must finish 2nd or 3rd , to get the home advantage, that could see us get to a final

However even 2nd or 3rd at the moment looks beyond Notts capabilities at the moment

We still have to go to Halifax stockport solihull and chesterfield. If we win this league we will certainly deserve it but that isnt going to happen. We will shud make the playoffs but weve experienced that route before and its not easy. 6 goals conceded in 2 playoff games last season. I think we are staying in this league for at least another year and probably under yet another manager. Happy days
