'BoxSet' rather than film, but we just finished 'Down Cemetery Road' (Apple) about 2am this morning. A very good thriller which got a bit slapstick at the end but was well worth the effort - Emma Thompson excelles in the joint-lead role, Adeel Akhtar plays his now familiar semi-bumbling official role, Fehinti Balogun (never seen him before) plays a bloody scary baddy. Some incidentally hilarious snippets (someone tries to describe the Balogun character in minute detail without daring to say he's black, a Scottish trawlerman has an absolutely epic rant about 15th century English/Scottish scraps etc) and there's a spot-on late cameo from Joshua James as Wayne the computer dweeb. Eight episodes

For those who enjoy a Western, ‘The Abandons’ on Netflix is, despite the slightly mixed reviews, an excellent watch, imo.
Seven episodes in all and slightly unusual in that the two main protagonists are matriarchs played by Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey.
Set largely in Washington State in the 1850’s, but actually filmed (I think) in Canada, it’s a well written, superbly acted, beautifully filmed, if occasionally brutal, account of life in the wild (north) west.
