I think there is evidence to suggest he's a good coach and the players, or certainly some, rate his coaching.
Tottenham will have been keeping very close tabs on George Abbott. We can all see how good he is. He's already a million pound asset to Spurs and potentially could be worth much, much more (?30m plus?).
No one will convince me not a single club enquired about Abbott's availability in the January transfer window, Spurs could have recalled him and sent him on loan to a League 1 or Championship club. They didn't.
If Abbott (who has grown up in the Spurs academy) and the wider staff who monitor his progression from a huge club with massive resources are happy with his development and learning at Notts under Maynard then that has to be a massive positive surely?
It also bodes well for the coming seasons too. If big clubs know they can send valuable assets to develop and progress at Notts then hopefully there will more players of Abbott's quality through the door.
