The board will know that bids are likely (at any time during the transfer window) for our better players and the recruitment team will have identified alternatives just in case the bids are acceptable

Why would we sell one of our best players to one of our promotion rivals!!?

Paul Warne saying no more players into the building.

I think a good deal could have been made for Cole Stockton from Morcambe, a fee of around £400,000
with a wage of £3,500 to £4,000 then if Cole Stockton helps keep the Millers in the championship
this season, a extra £100,000 to Morcambe.
With a incentive to Morcambe in letting Millers player Kayode go to Morcambe on loan till January 2023,
or a season-long-loan in the deal.

It would seem that clubs are after some of our players on loan, so signing Stockton, let Kayode go out
on loan to a another club to get more experience under his belt.

Stop talking common sense. Thing is ELK, no one and I mean no one has come in for Stockton so there's something wrong somewhere.

Fleetwood Town made 2 offers Brin.

I would say there are quite a few teams in league 1 & 2 who would like Stockton, but their budget may not cover
the price Morcambe are wanting. Even a few championship clubs thinking shall we make a offer as we get nearer
    the transfer deadline.

ELK, a derisory offer of £100k was an absolute embarrassment by them.

Morcambe sign a forward from Huddersfield Town, 22 year old Kieran Phillips, season-long-loan
