A let off for Uruguay there with the keeper not claiming the ball, a big chance really for Bernardo Silva, but he had to try and keep the ball down. I hope Cavani's injury isn't too bad.

Well done Uruguay, two goals of quality from Cavani. Ronaldo losing his head in added time. Ref could easily have given him a straight red for dissent.

He would have missed the next game I believe.

Best part of today is that we don’t have to hear about Messi v Ronaldo until the start of next Champions League.

Yes he would. Very true regarding how much is spoken about both Messi and Ronaldo. Even on the BBC updates of tonight's game, it's "Ronaldo's Portugal" knocked out by two Edinson Cavani goals. After both Cavani goals the camera always focused on Ronaldo's reaction to his side conceding.

I enjoyed that game as much as the first one, tremendous effort from both teams. I agree with Mitch, it will be nice not to have the Messi/Ronaldo thing stuffed down our throats for the rest of the tournament.

1-0 Spain, Ignashevich own goal. The Russian defender was more interested in grappling with Ramos than trying to win the ball, poor defending in my eyes.

Penalty to Russia, handball against Pique given, Pique and Spain can argue as much as they want , but Pique's arm is up in the air. All square, 1-1, Dzyuba from the spot.

Nice to see Russia making a game of it anyway. Spain look flat.

I think this is the first time I’ve been rooting for a game to go to penalties. Can’t see Russia winning this is in extra time.

All games are different, but i can't say i've enjoyed watching this one as much as the two yesterday. I'd rather a side got a goal in extra-time than having to go to penalties.
