Trump Derangement Syndrome mon ami, the very fact that he gets out of bed in a morning triggers a storm of criticism from Lefty journos, they can't help themselves, it's an illness, no known cure.

There is a deep paranoia, loathing and visceral hatred of Donald Trump in the Media, Academia, the Bureaucracy, the NGOs, the Charity sector, the Church and among the elite, that clouds their empiricism, they cannot be dis-interested, once you step back and accept the above, which is no more than an explanation of TDS, you begin to realise that 90% of what you read about Trump is worthless.

I look at my local town centre. How it has changed since I moved here 35 years ago. We had 5 Banks and Building Societies then to serve the community. They have all closed their branches. Sure most people bank online these days but we don’t even have a banking hub in their place. If you actually need to go into a bank you will need to go to Bolton or Bury or even Manchester. Our shopping centre consists in large part (apart from a Lidl and an Asda) of a multitude of barbers, tanning salons, nail bars and vape shops. I cannot believe such a mixture of shops many ostensibly competing for the same business can be commercially viable so what real underlying trade is going on? Our civic suite was demolished. Pubs have closed in droves to be turned into HMOs. Serco are writing to private landlords asking them to sign over their properties for the next five years. We are witness to communities and the buildings, institutions and meeting places that bound them together being systematically destroyed. And if this wasn’t enough the Mayor and Labour councils plan to build over greenbelt land that will then be lost forever for future generations. From my perspective we are in a country that is out of control with a succession of Governments that have proved unable and in some circumstances unwilling to defend our communities. If it was just incompetence it would be bad enough but it has been compounded with outright lying. It is no wonder that people are ditching the Conservative and Labour parties and will continue to do so as long as they are ignored, marginalised and sneeringly written off as merely populist or worse.

As you pointed out in another post where are the good politicians when you need them and the answer is conspicuously absent. Change however must surely come. The establishment who had dragged us further and further into the EU without consulting anyone got the shock of their lives with the Brexit vote. imo Britons want fair trade and fair travel with Europe. Co-operation but not political union. We are,when all is said and done, an independent island nation and not a piece of Continental Europe. The Tories suffered an electoral catastrophe in 2024 and I am sure Starmer fears the same fate will befall Labour unless he starts to exert control over events and he surely has not done that so far.

The former prime minister of Israel Ehud Olmert has said Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza, and that “thousands of innocent Palestinians are being killed, as well as many Israeli soldiers”.

Olmert, who was the 12th prime minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009, wrote in an opinion piece for the Israeli newspaper and website Haaretz that “the government of Israel is currently waging a war without purpose, without goals or clear planning and with no chances of success”.

He added: “Never since its establishment has the state of Israel waged such a war … The criminal gang headed by Benjamin Netanyahu has set a precedent without equal in Israel’s history in this area, too.

The former Israeli PM and former member of Likud, the same party as Netanyahu, wrote that the “pointless victims among the Palestinian population” were reaching “monstrous proportions” in recent weeks.

“Recent operations in Gaza have nothing to do with legitimate war goals,” he wrote. “This is now a private political war. Its immediate result is the transformation of Gaza into a humanitarian disaster area.”

Olmert said he had often asserted that Israel was not committing war crimes in Gaza and claimed with conviction that “in no case did a government official give orders to hit Gazan civilians indiscriminately”.

However, in recent weeks, “I’ve been no longer able to do so,” he said. “What we are doing in Gaza now is a war of devastation: indiscriminate, limitless, cruel and criminal killing of civilians. It’s the result of government policy – knowingly, evilly, maliciously, irresponsibly dictated.”

It's pretty useless trying to argue with him but the genocide deniers and facilitators will obviously disagree.

The picture has been photoshopped, the original is easily found on't interweb and there is no Star of David on Mr Begins lapel. Wikiquote refers to the quote you mis-attribute to him thus, 'This is not an accurate quote. There is no proof this has ever been said.'.
