James scared the sh1te out of the crowd with every incoming cross. His record was reliant on a back four that was exceptional. Good shot stopper and pen saver, ala Steer and Nyland, but crikey, crosses? He undid his good work in the Semi shoot-out by gifting Chelsea the winner in the final.

Half the time the opposition’s best assist was a hopeful punt into the box.

Bongo, he was an absolute liability.

    Carson??? Please stop!!!

Spinksy was brilliant in the 82-83 season.

James on his day could be very good, shame it wasn't very often

Is he really better than Jed? Feel sorry for the guy, cannot forget his heroics got us to Wembley! So I also guess, this is the end for Nyland & Kalanic?

No way should we be sentimental Dave. Steer is a quality Championship keeper and we wouldn't have been promoted without him but Heaton is a class above, experienced, Captain of Burnley. 8m is a steal for an internationally capped goalkeeper who is only 33. Friedel was 37 when we signed him.

Steer will learn a lot from him imo if he hangs around. Like Guzan did as understudy. Tho, still not as good as Brad Friedel

Burnley fans are gutted. They readily agree he got them 9 points by himself last season. Very commanding and has the dressing room. As Sam says, a steal.

We will see, were not exactly good at signing keepers!
